It’s a containment squad

You respond almost by instinct, pressing the button to open the door before the intercom can buzz again – no monster would buzz, after all, any human contact would be welcome.

As the door slides open the room begins to fill with well-armed soldiers in protective armour. They don’t wait for the lab to be fully open, the minute there’s enough room to get through the gap the armed warriors storm in.

“One here, Serg” says the first of the soldiers in.

Alarmingly he’s pointing his rifle at you. “I think she’s been attacked. Likely had contact with one of the aliens.”

The second of the three soldiers steps forward, a different emblem on his armoured shoulder than the other two.

“Sorry miss,” he says, “The protocol is simple. Anyone exposed to the contagion will be eliminated on sight. It is better this way.”

The sergeant raises his gun as well. You are seconds away from ****.
