It's the same office all right, except...

Some country hit blared on the radio as Tina sped down the freeway. He didn't expect this odd new life would have a job downtown, but that seemed to be where they were headed. He had so many questions but he wasn't sure how to ask. Tina wasn't very talkative either, except when she told him he looked hot as they sped out of the trailer park. That was enough to give him butterflies in his stomach though. It felt good to have Tina back. Her pink hair was gone, and she was back to her normal age. But she still wasn't acting normal.

Alex couldn't understand why he wasn't freaking out. Maybe he was relieved that everything wasn't so sexually charged as it had been. Not that Tina didn't keep throwing hungry glances his way as she drove. It felt like her eyes were on his chest more than the road. But things weren't nearly as... horny. At least not yet.

He flipped down the truck's visor to get a look in the mirror. He was transfixed by his makeup again, the glitter seemed more intense in the sunlight. And was that some kind of shimmery powder on his chest too? This had just appeared on him, but he wondered how much it would take for someone to really do all this. He instinctively pulled a lipgloss tube out of his bag and puckered his lips.

"You seem nervous," Tina said finally "I know things are tight at home now that Jeffrey's not working any more." Jeffrey! Was he (or she) still in his life somehow? "Your big sis really was pullin' in a lot of money from the club. Who knew the state would come shut it down!"

Alex was about to ask about this "club" when he felt the pickup jerk to a halt. He stopped staring at his makeup in the mirror and flipped the visor back up, where he was greeted with a familiar sight: His old downtown office building!

It was a relief to see something familiar again. He hopped out of the truck, Tina giving him a playful swat on the backside as he did. "I'll be back when you're done, darlin'." she said before speeding off. Alex walked in, suddenly feeling more confident. Finally a place where he was in charge!

The receptionist on the main floor even complimented his shoes when he walked in! Maybe today wouldn't be so bad. The familiar ding of the elevator brought a bit more calmness as he rode to his usual floor. But when the doors slid open, he couldn't believe what he saw.
