It's past noon, what else?

Now finally in town, the first stop for out party was quite obvious.

How long had it been ever since they got a nice meal? Too long for comfort, especially for Ryu who literally starved ever since he came here.

With such a mindset the group set off to find a nice tavern, possibly one annexed to an inn so they could already make plans for the night... and indeed, they found what they needed.

Brohole Post wasn't a nice place to be in. While it wasn't as bad as a slum from a common town, it was still just a quickly built fort intended for adventurers and the army to rest in. As a result, the whole place reeked of red light district.
There were only two kind of place with beds, namely brothels and inns patronized by street prostitutes.

Decent inn? Why would such a place be here, an outpost where no decent person would pass by? Adventurers were usually poor devils, and even those with some money would either use them on their equipment or just save it away, how many would bother with a luxury room?

Still, just because those inns were commonly used by whores to play with their clients, didn't mean they wouldn't accept normal kind of guests so it wasn't really a problem to find a place to sleep in, the group stopping by an outwardly nice-looking building and walking straight in.

Sporting a yellow rooster on the insignia, "The Golden Cock" offered room and board at fair price. What was especially interesting was that by renting a room, one would get 2 standard meals a day and it would ease the strain on their walled. After all they were working on a limited budget, and they still needed to buy Ryu a decent set of armour along weapon and shield.

Lia was the one to negotiate with the receptionist, an aged man with crooked back who let his eyes wander up and down her body as she got closer. The prices were quite simple.
A gold coin each if they wished to sleep in the communal room, no food included.
Reserving a room with four beds would cost five golden coins, 4 standard meals a day in homage.
Reserving a double or a single would be ten golden coins, still 4 standard meals a day.
As for food, each standard meal was 1 gold coin.

Making some calculation they needed at least four beds plus eight standard meals, four now and four dinners.
Communal rooms were out of questions, as they didn't know what strangers they'd end up sleeping with, whereas for the rooms...
Reserving a four beds would cost 5 golden coins, plus another 4 for dinner cost would make 9 total golden coins. But Ryu would end up sleeping with them.
Reserving a four beds for the girls and a single for Ryu would save on lunch money, but the sheer cost of the single room would raise the total to 15 golden coins.
Reserving two doubles or any other combination would go to 20 golden coins and up, so they were obviously ignored...

What to do? Would paying 5 more coins to have Ryu sleep on his own be worth it? Or should they just let him sleep in the same room and bear with it?

Albeit the boy hadn't been with them for long, Lia could still tell he was a good guy. Moreover, with three girls in the room it'd be hard for him to do anything strange... not to mention, his fighting skills were surely subpar when compared to the others, especially Fira.

Why should she hesitate any further? Lia closed the deal at 10 golden coins, renting a four bed room plus dinner plus a quick breakfast for tomorrow.
