You crash through the underbrush at a frenetic pace, disturbing peccaries, capybara, monkeys, jaguar, and others as you 'run' towards the spider's lair as fast as you possibly can. Only your immense size and recent experience with moving yourself through actual water allows you to set a pace which outstrips what Dana could run on her own, but you both know that Dana in her present state could not handle this quest by herself, and thanks to your fortuitous though involuntary 'training regimen' you actually ARE faster. You take a good 107 points of damage from spearing yourself on broken sticks and **** attacks by animals that can't get out of your way in time, but you don't give a flying fuck about that, you have a lost girl to rescue, and time apparently is of the essence. Besides that, it has just started raining again, so your HP and MP are going over-cap again rapidly, meaning a few dozen HP lost is nothing to you.

When you get to the area you start crushing and spearing the Jungle Spiders left and right, and open up Dana's cocoon enough for her to direct you towards where the girl is, as she has cast a 'Find The Path' spell, showing her exactly where to go, one of the new spells at her disposal from Vienna's patronage.

As you continue to storm through the spider infested part of the jungle you let a few in for Dana to fight, since you are not even getting experience for dealing with these annoying little abominations and one of you should be advancing from this conflict, though you are careful to only allow them in one at a time and warn her when you do. However after the fifth one manages to bite her and she feels their venom for the first time she tells you not to do that any more. Apparently there is a good reason that characters under 15th level cannot undertake this quest, the tiny arachnids poison truly IS potent! Fortunately a quick casting of 'Neutralize Poison' removes the effect, and you tighten up your defenses around her.

At last with only a minute and a half to spare you get to where the spell says you need to go: and find it's a cave that you cant fit into! Undaunted you send your tentacles in, exploring by touch, and getting bit by dozens and dozens of spiders! The damage is piffling without their venom, reduced to the single 'automatic' point for a successful attack by your armored hide, but the raw volume actually causing a noticeable drop in HP. You don't dare strike at them for fear of accidentally hitting the girl and killing her, so you just endure the pain as Dana spams healing spells and you reach around corners, looking for your quarry and hoping the cave is not too deep for you to get to her.

With only seconds remaining one of your questing tentacles finds the girl, and closes around her. You pull her free as quickly as you dare, careful not to smack her head on anything and get her back out. The spiders seem to ignore her, you have no idea why, and after an interminable 30 seconds she comes out into the clean air and rain, and you quickly crush the vicious little arachnids still clinging to your tentacles and biting.

You get the girl into the cocoon with Dana and she casts 'Neutralize Poison' on the girl just on principles.

A fanfare you have never heard before plays and the countdown timer disappears, then the words:

Quest Objective: 'Rescue Kailiet', achieved!
Return to 'Sagothi Village' with 'Kailiet' to complete quest!
You must protect 'Kailiet' for full achievement.

Appear before your eyes for a few seconds, and you turn back towards the village. You keep the cocoon just barely open enough to let in air for the two people you are holding, certainly not enough for any of these nasty arachnids to get through, while Dana casts healing spells on the girl repeatedly until she regains consciousness, and looks at the pale skinned stranger before her. "Who are you, and where am I?" She asks looking at Dana where she stands over her with her dagger still drawn and wearing nothing but a breast band and loin cloth, though the girl is almost as scantily dressed, her bark colored skin accented with a short 'tank top' like shirt in the same green as the spiders that exposes her child's midriff and slightly longer skirt of the same hue which only goes to her knees, both of which on an adult would be scandalous.

"I am Dana: Chosen of Vienna, and you are being carried in a cocoon made from the vines of my partner, the Chlorofiend of Vienna. We are taking you back to your father, and you will soon be home and safe." Dana explains, looking the child over, making sure that she is fully healed, whereupon she looks directly at the eye spot of the frond you have inside the cocoon and says "A WORD if I may!"
