Issue 1.11: The Truth About John and Maria

That night, you sneak out of your house, the cool air biting at your skin as you make your way to the Trent house. The front door is left ajar, a sliver of warm light spilling onto the porch. You push it open and step inside, your heart pounding.

The house is quiet, but not empty. A low, rhythmic sound drifts from the living room: moans, the creak of a couch, the unmistakable sounds of sex. You freeze, your stomach twisting as you realize what you’re hearing.

You follow the noise, your steps slow and hesitant. The living room comes into view, and there they are: Maria and John, tangled together on the couch. Maria is on her knees, her back arched as John grips her hips, driving into her with a raw, animalistic intensity. Her silver choker glints in the dim light, her lips parted in a gasp as she moans his name. John’s muscles ripple with every thrust, his jaw clenched in concentration, his hands leaving red marks on her skin.

You should look away. You should. But you can’t.

Maria’s head snaps toward you, her silver eyes locking onto yours. She doesn’t stop. She doesn’t even seem surprised. Instead, her lips curl into a smirk, and she reaches out a hand, beckoning you closer.

"See something you like, Bennet?" she purrs, her voice husky with pleasure.

John doesn’t pause either. He just grunts, his grip tightening on Maria’s hips as he pulls her back onto him harder. "You going to join us, kid?" he growls, his voice rough with lust. "Or just watch?"

Your mouth goes dry. This is the secret she wanted you to see. This is what she meant when she said there was a lot you didn’t know.

And suddenly, you understand.

Maria isn’t just John’s niece.
