Isolation, Redux
It was worse the next time around. Three months in her room ... her cell. She got cold showers, cold gruel and loaf. They gave her a TV, and she tried to learn some Spanish and make the most of her time, but they apparently noticed that, and instead they played porn. Latino men and white women. 24 hours a day. A constant, unyielding soundtrack of pleasure to a woman marooned and abandoned. She tried to resist, to overcome. But after 90 days, she asked to see her jailor, and she said she would surrender. She'd believe what she was told to believe. She'd serve who she was told to serve.
