Chapter 130 by brevdravis brevdravis

Ok, that's a pretty crazy coincidence...

Is this the Real Life...

I turned the bus in a tight three point turn in front of the cabin as the car proceeded to bounce along the slightly uneven pavement.

"So... Brent do you actually want to hear about what I have to..." Kaila began.

"Oh, Come ON! Four People in a car with Bohemian Rhapsody playing and you're NOT going to do it?" Helen groaned.

"Do What?" Kaila asked. "Oh wait, no you don't mean... Ok, fine but before you get too involved in it, you need to take the Highland's inn exit. We're picking up Carla."

"Involved in wh..." Charlotte cut off her speech as I began to sing...

"I see a little sillouetta of a man..."

"SCARAMOUCH, SCARAMOUCH, Will you do the FanDANGgo!" Joined in Helen at the appropriate time.

"THUNDERbolts and Lightning! Very Very Frightning! ME!" We both sang along as I swerved the car through the foggy morning, watching eagerly as the headlights occasionally illuminated some crag or tree.

"You are such... dorks... and I love you." Kaila groaned. "MagnificOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhh...." She joined in at the appropriate moment. "Oh Oh! This turn!"

I barely noted the turn cut out into the side of the cliff on our right. I slowed even further, and turned the car onto the uphill road.

"Quiet out here today...." Remarked Helen before proceeding to belt out another line of Freddy Mercury's with gusto.

"Real quiet," I nodded, pulling past the empty parking lot of the Ritzy upscale Inn, noting no one moving about at all. No shuttles, no traffic. Strange. "HE's JUST A POOR BOY, FROM A POOR FAMILY, SPARE HIM HIS LIFE FROM IT'S MONSTROSITY!"

"Hey, turn it off for a second." Kaila remarked, tapping at her phone. "Carla's... she should be at the front desk."

I pulled the Van along between the fog shrouded cabins and pools. Yeah, this place screamed affair, but for some reason it felt less appealing than it had any right to. Up ahead a small sign indicated a turn for the "Tickle Pink" motel.

"Oh you have GOT to be kidding me. That's a name right out of a porno movie." I laughed, looking at the sign with its sixties font.

"I didn't pick it!" Kaila argued. "Shit, she's already packed."

I pulled the van up to the glass doors, noting a small sign on the door that stated that due to some reason or another the place was closed until further notice. Weird. That... never happens. This is crazy, has to be. Hotels don't just close around here. Carla sat outside, her face looking rather dejected and her head buried in her phone. My wife's twin was dressed rather drearily, with her blonde hair pulled back into a tight ponytail.

"Hey, Carla!" I honked the horn, as she had barely looked up from her phone at our approach.

"Brent!" Carla gasped, "I uh... we have to talk about..."

"Hi, by the way, Helen, you don't know me, apparently you know Charlotte, lots to talk about, let's just get back in the car."

"But..." Kaila began, looking into the car.

"No Buts, we've got a Wayne's World going on right now, and you're NOT ruining it!" Helen and I each took one of Carla's arms, while Kaila quickly grabbed the small bag at her feet and threw it into the car. Carla settled between her sister and Charlotte, a bit uncomfortably, admittedly, but the back seat totally would have ruined the joke and she seemed willing to play along. Especially when I hit play again. The soft piano started up, and Helen chimed in at the appropriate time.

"Easy come, easy go, will you let me go?"

"ISMILA, We will not let you go!" Everyone in the car chimed in. "LET HIM GOOOOOOO"

We continued like that until the the moment when Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me... for ME... for MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

"Keep your eyes on the road, even if you're headbanging..." I was cautioned by somebody, not quite sure who in all the attempting to drive and sing badly at the same time, and tried to keep my attention somewhat on not killing us all in a flaming wreck.

The Valley Turn off
