Is this Jasmin's father?

I approached Jerome, who was lying on his back on a secluded wall of the gymnasium, observing people passing by. He smiled as he looked at me.

"Did someone make up her mind about our nail and hammer situation?" He asked, eager to get the party truly started.

Before I could answer him, he noticed movement behind me and spoke up:

"What is Jasmin's father doing here?"

I turned to look at what he was seeing, and noticed the parent who had an earlier call with me tonight approached his unaware daughter.

I couldn't hear what was happening as he grabbed the cup from her hand and forcefully placed it on the table next to him.

The conversation seemed heated as he shouted in her face, embarrassing her in front of her friends, a brute in anger over a silly thing that didn't even exist.

But no one was about to interject and tell him that...

Most people surrounding them stopped and looked at the two arguing, before the father took his daughter by the arm and led her outside.

That's it for her party...

I turned to look at Jerome, who was watching the same scene as I did.

"Does the offer still stand?" I joked.
"Dude's insane! Ever since his wife left him for another man he's been smothering his daughter. And I've been reaping the effects of that."

We both remained thoughtful for a while.

"Yes the offer still stands. Of course it does." He said, looking at me with intensity.

I looked back at him.

"Might take you up on it..." I answered him, the thoughts of what might happen swirling in my mind.
