Irene's Makeover

It was so sublime to Irene, seeing her reflection in the mirror in what felt like lifetimes ago. She almost forgot what she used to look like. Turning her face back and forth, she blinked her now fully functioning eyes, looking over her hawkish nose, her narrow cheekbones, her soft lips and thin eyebrows. Her eyes shifting and gazing at herself with every turn of her head to get a different angle, even going so far as to wink to herself and smile at the gesture.

“I look as splendid as I did back during the Victorian age… Though I never recalled being so… BLUE.”

Bringing a hand to touch at her cheek and trace down to her chin, Destiny found her skin had taken an ocean blue complexion. Not only that her hair was a vibrant scarlet red, and her eyes were almost cat-like and yellow. Combing her fingers through her long hair, Irene made a face, pouting her lip as she gave herself another look over.

“I would have sworn back then I was a little more…” At that moment her skin rippled, changing complexion from her dark blue to a very pale English skin tone. “Pale…”

Bringing her hands to the basin of the bathroom sink to bring herself closer to her reflection, Irene narrowed her eyes and concentrated. Her hair began to change colour as did her skin previously. Going from a vibrant red to a soft brunette colour. Blinking her eyes, they went from the feline yellow irises she had previous, to sky blue.

“There we are. That brings back memories.” Irene smiled, looking herself over and blushing a pink rouge when she looked down to find she was still unclothed. “Well that will not do.”

Closing her eyes again and taking a step back, she felt her skin… Change, shift, stretch. It was a confusing sensation, one she could hardly put into words, but what was happening was her body was conjuring the appearance of clothing. Specifically a dress she wore back in 1882. Opening her eyes, she looked over the light tanned buttoned dress with frills in the sleeves and neckline, her feet now adorned with shoes and her hair now done up in a stylish bun with a matching cap to her dress.

“Hmm, yes. This brings me back down memory lane. But we’re not in the 1880s anymore. What do the women wear these days?” She asked out loud, tapping her finger to her lip before snapping her fingers.

Immediately her clothes changed on her. The skirt that reached down to her feet rose up until they only covered her upper thighs, changing material and colour until she was wearing a pair of torn denim shorts. Her button blouse and jacket changing into a tube top sporting a thunderbolt emblem, and her hair and make up altered to have heavy eye shadow and her hair shorn into a mohawk.

“Hmm, so this is what I saw during those days Storm made history… Not to my liking…”

Snapping her fingers again, her hair and clothing changed again, taking on the yellow and black spandex of the X-men costumes when Charles Xavier first began the x-men, her hair grown back and bound in a pony tail as she posed and turned.

“Bleh… You were a brilliant man Charles, but fashion sense was not one of your intellectual virtues.”

Snapping her fingers again, Irene smiled at the end result of her mixing and mashing styles together, eventually creating a variation of her costume as a business dress in heels. Her hair flowing freely behind her and her face decorated with gold lipstick and eyeliner to symbolise her old mask.

“Hmm, yes, VERY nice.” Turning and posing before the mirror and finishing her appraisal with a flip of her hair, Irene’s smile was almost impish.

“Just wait until Raven gets home from her little stint.” She giggled, turning around and leaving the washroom to tend to the triplets. “She is going to be stunned.”
