What should she do on her day off?
Invite someone over
Given she had them open, Janet decided to look through her inbox, checking all the new messages she had received. Most of them were normal updates, nothing super interesting. Then she paused. Her eyes fixed on the name on one of the e-mails.
'John Talbot.'
She could feel herself getting angrier, and she hadn't even opened it yet. He thought she was ugly. He wanted to replace her. Why was he even messaging her? She'd told Arthur that they wouldn't need his money anymore. She'd show him. She clicked on the e-mail, not even bothering to read it, and clicked reply, writing:
'Dear Mr. Talbot,
I am sorry to hear about your objections. But, my company is going in a different direction and will not be needing you anymore. If you would like to talk it through with me, come by my house today.
Sincerely,
Janice'
She smiled cruelly as she hit send. He was going to visit her; he didn't want to lose her company. And, when he did, he would be in for a rude awakening.
It took some time, but eventually she got a reply, which read:
'Dear Ms Starlin,
I would indeed like to take you up on that offer. What time would suit you best? Does 2 O'clock work for you?
Sincerely, John Talbot'
She smiled and responded saying that would work well. She then waited.
