Investigation

With the girls safe, you start to gather a few people to go investigate further as Camille suggests.

"You're not coming!"

"Why not?" asks Jenny as she follows you around the house as you try to gather people.

"Because I said so. Just stay here with Leyla and her mother"

"I'm going."

"No, you're not"

"Nicole is going, so I'm going!"

"Please Jenny, just this time, do as i say"

"Listen here!" she says as grabs you by the neck and turns you around. She leans her head and whispers softly in your ear."I'm telling you, not asking for permission. You're not leaving me behind ever again! And you better get used to it."

"Jenny...It's dangerous..."

"Then you better think of a way to make it less dangerous, because I'll be right beside you." She says walking away towards the group, waving her hand.

"Fuck!"

"Just let her come, what's the big deal?" says Camille

"What do you know? Just take care of the new girls and make sure nothing happens to them" you dismiss her angrily, as you go to join the group of people that will come and investigate.

"Ok, everyone listen! We don't know what we will find, don't engage the enemy unless I tell you, and don't get separated from the pack! Stay together and we'll keep each other safe!"

"Ok", "Sure boss", "Got it"

They all agree, unenthusiastically. With 5 males, including you, and 3 females, it should be enough to deter a small vampire unit but if it's an army that awaits you then you're all fucked.

Anna gave you some charms for protection, so maybe it will prove useful if things come to that.

Carefully you make your way back to the river and trace back the scent up the hill. It's a lot thinner, but you can still discern it and follow it. Strangely it seems to be moving away from the forest and towards the town.

"Maybe they got lost..." says Nicole.

It's true that it shouldn't be a big number of them since the smell is faint, and they didn't actually enter the pack's territory so it shouldn't be an ambush either.

"But why would they come back after what happened last time?"

"Maybe they are just passing by..."

"Why not use a car?"

"Maybe it broke down..."

You turn to look at Nicole as she comes up with answers to every question that you have.

"You really think that?"

"No"

You shake your head and order them to return to the house. Whatever it was, it's gone and you didn't find anything suspicious. The smell is also almost gone so there is no point in staying here. "Let's hope you're right..."

They still remember what happened that night, some fearful of a repeat and some itching for ****, but they all follow your lead without question. Now that you've got Jenny back, a war with vampires is not something that you want, so hopefully, Edward will not provoke them if they don't have to.

You and the girls remained in werewolf forms, as the others stayed as humans in case it was necessary to interact with normal humans, so you quickly sprint to the rock to get all the clothes back with you.

You meet them at the cabin and find Leyla and her mother have already changed back into humans and have borrowed some clothes from the house. There is a big wardrobe here so any werewolf can come back and change clothes in case someone rips them during the transformation.
