Chapter 1 by ErosApostasia ErosApostasia

I arrive home to find Gianna standing in the kitchen, her masculine business attire immaculate against her skin, and beside her stands a man I don't recognize. He's attractive in an effortless way, dark-eyed and composed, leaning against the counter with the ease of someone completely at home in his own body.

"Hi, my love," Gianna says warmly, her eyes twinkling with something I can't quite name. "This is Hugh. He works with me in the office."

My throat tightens. Something about this moment feels orchestrated, and I don't know why.

"Hi, Gianna," I manage, nodding toward the stranger. "Hugh, nice to meet you."

Gianna smiles, stepping closer. Her hand finds my arm with familiar pressure. "I'm so glad you're home, darling. Hugh and I were just discussing some work matters. But now that you're here, perhaps we could all relax and get to know each other better?"

There's a deliberateness in her words. A plan already in motion.

She turns to Hugh, gesturing with the fluid grace I've always admired. "My husband, Eros, and I have been married for fifteen wonderful years. We have such an open and loving relationship."

Her voice drops, becomes conspiratorial. The kind of tone that makes my stomach clench.

"In fact, there are certain... interests and desires we've been wanting to explore together. As an educated man of the world like yourself, Hugh, I thought you might have some valuable insights to share. What do you think?"

I feel the floor shift beneath me.

"Um, Gianna," I say, my voice smaller than I'd like. "What do you mean? Hugh, I'm so sorry—sometimes Gianna overshares. I'm sure you're not interested in this."

Gianna chuckles softly, a sound like silk, and places a reassuring hand on my arm. But there's nothing reassuring about it. It's possessive. Knowing.

"Oh, hush, my love," she says. "There's no need to be shy about this."

She turns to Hugh with a knowing smile, and I watch something pass between them—an understanding I'm not part of.

"You see, Eros and I have always been incredibly close and open with each other. Lately, we've been discussing ways to deepen our intimacy even further."

Hugh listens attentively, his handsome features arranged in an expression of understanding. He shifts his weight, his gaze moving from Gianna to me with warm assessment.

"I completely understand, Gianna," he says, his voice smooth and measured. "An honest, open relationship takes courage and trust."

His eyes settle on me, and I feel pinned beneath them.

"And I assure you both, there's no need for apologies. I'm more than happy to lend an ear—or offer advice, if you'd like."

"Advice?" My voice cracks slightly. "Gianna, what are we doing here? Why is Hugh here? Isn't our intimacy supposed to be... private?"

Gianna steps closer, and I catch the scent of her perfume—something expensive, something that belongs to her world, not mine. Her voice becomes low, soothing, the way you'd speak to something frightened.

"Shh, my darling. I know this seems sudden, but please hear me out."

She cups my face with both hands, her thumbs tracing my cheekbones with deliberate tenderness. The gesture should comfort me. Instead, it makes me feel utterly exposed.

"Our intimacy will always be private, sacred even," she says, her eyes searching mine. "But I've noticed little things. The way you linger over certain outfits. How your breath catches when you see someone wearing something daring."

My face burns. She's been watching. She's been seeing me.

"I want to support you," she continues, her voice dropping even lower. "To help you embrace every part of yourself. And I thought having a trusted friend like Hugh here—someone who understands these matters—might make it easier to talk openly."

She glances at Hugh, who nods encouragement, his expression patient and assured.

"There's no pressure, my love," Gianna whispers. "We're just exploring possibilities together, as a couple. That's all."

I feel as though I've been submerged in ice water. She knows. She can't know, but she does.

"G-Gianna," I stutter, pulling slightly away from her hands. "What are you talking about? Certain outfits? And how can Hugh help with this? How can another guy help with our intimacy?"
