Jin Wu was a young, unfortunate boy. Famine hit hard, and a baby not even a year old was left swaddled on the step of the local sect. This surprised the members of the Lotus Pavilion, as a mortal without martial artist had to climb their Lotus Mountain in order to leave the baby there. As an Orthodox sect, one elder decided to accept the young boy as a disciple.
