The Adventures of Lucky Girl
A superheroine CYOA
Chapter 1
by The Night
My name is Lucy Heartfeld and my life has always seemed perfect. Well....almost. I grew up as an orphan with no knowledge of who my parents where. Despite this however, life always seemed to work out for me. Everything I touched seemed to turn to gold. My grades where always perfect and every extra curricular activeity, I would excel at. Needless to say, I was able to breeze my way through college. Though I would graduate with a degree in business science, I found that I didn't really need to work considering I could make a fortune in the stock market. No matter what stocks I bought, I made an absurd amount of money. I settled into a life of luxury with little care in the world yet it all felt empty as there was never anything that could challenge me. Sure I could always go out and spend my money and sleep with any guy I wanted to, but that only did so much for me.
Then one night, I came to a shocking discovery. I was out clubbing with some girlfriends and ended up going home alone after all my friends hooked up for the night. Unable to find a taxi, I made my way through a seedy section of town and found myself being mugged. Though I had practiced boxing, kickboxing and other forms of MMA, I was a petite girl who barely weighed 100 lbs soaking wet. Plus they had knifes and guns. Still, I fought back and to my surprise, I was able to handle things....well....sort of. The first guy I struck happened to have a glass jaw and the second evidently had some precracked ribs. The one of the thugs went to shoot me but his gun jammed while the other accidently ejected his magazine. I kicked the the former in the crotch just and ducked just in time to avoid a punch from the other, who tripped over his own magazine. I was standing over four thugs twice my size and I didn't have a scratch on me. People always said I was lucky.....but could I really be that lucky?
I decided to test that. I did basic things at first like flipping a coin and blindly throwing darts. Every time I did the coin would land on what I called and I would hit the bullseye every time. I started getting a little more daring. Pulling the pins on grenades and firing a gun at myself. Every time the grenade ended up being a dud and the gun would jam. I then thought back through my life. How easy everything seemed. How I'd get into a car wreck, fight or something like that and end up just fine. It was almost as if lady luck was on my side at all times. And all this time, I had only used it for myself. Now that I was aware of all this, I knew I had to use it for more than just myself.
And so it was that I became the superheroine Lucky Girl. Now in The City, superheroes where nothing new. There where several such as Firebreather, Scarlet Knight, Cryoboy, Hydrowoman and Beastgirl. Most of them had an established look and image. However, I wanted to mix things up. Rather than wear the same costume, I decided to wear a new one every time I went out. The only consistent things about my attire where my mask, bullwhip and the color scheme, which was always black and purple. I tended to dress sexy to use my natural beauty to my advantage. I was curvaous but my petite form was sexy in it's own right. Though I did get tired of people thinking I was younger than I was. It's annoying to be assumed 14 or 16 when you are 26.
My first night out went great. I found I was able to get around the city rather easily using my gymanstics and I could easily swing through the city as my whip seemed to latch on to something everytime I cracked it. I was able to easily deal with thugs and my mere presence made dangerous situations like fires and construction accidents end well for everyone. I was quickly making a name for myself as a superheroine. Little did I know that my life was about to get a little crazy.
