Instead of posting the first chapter here, I decided to make this first page a content warning to give you an idea of whether this story sounds like something you would be interested in or not. I know what it's like getting invested in a story only for it to take a sudden twist that doesn't jive, so I hope to avoid doing that with this little blurb.
