“Yes…” Her voice is terse and frustrated, her eyes shimmer with frustration and hurt.
Erik squeezes her hand, which she reciprocates appreciatively.
“I get that, but that’s not my-“ She bites her tongue, sucking in her cheek, her knuckles white as she holds the phone up to her face.
“Sorry… Daddy. I wasn’t talking back.” She replies after a moment, her hand squeezing Erik’s.
She nods, her lips tight. “Of course. Yes…”
“I’ll see you soon.” She sucks in her teeth, the silence heavy in the room.
“I… Love you too.”
She lets the phone slide out of her hand, dropping her head in Erik’s lap, she lifts her knees towards her chest and she grumbles, pushing her face into his thigh.
“I know.” Erik says, rubbing her hair, gently patting her. “I know.”
“Why?… Does he blame me?” She asks silently, Erik’s thigh getting wet.
“Because he’s a dickhead.”
She laughs softly. “Understatement of the century.” She shakes her head. “Whatever, it’s better this way. Trip is delayed, don’t have to deal with that old fuck for a while.”
She sits up, grabbing Erik’s face and giving him a deep long, loving kiss.
“I love you.” Vi says, putting her forehead on his, smiling softly.
“I love you too.” Erik responds.
She leans back and shakes out her limbs. “Right. Today. Is a good day. Horrific timing from him. But when has he ever had good timing?”
Erik watches as she stands up, hopping on one foot and then switching to the other. “Shake it off, shake it off.”
Erik nods, watching her. “Exactly! It’s your day, He’s old news, didn’t even happen.”
“Fuck it!” Erik says, getting up and jumping with her, grabbing her wrists.
She stops and nods, grinning. “I’m not letting him ruin my good day. No fucking way.”
Vi knee bounces in front of Erik’s computer, waiting for the email from Blake to come through.
“Relax!” Erik says, putting his hand on her thigh, grinning at her.
“I’m just so excited!! It’s going to be official!”
“It already is!” Erik says teasingly, rubbing her thigh. “I’m proud of you!”
“Ahhhhh! Thank you, thank you, thank you!” She says, grinning, as she refreshes her emails again.
Erik stands up. “You want a drink? Water?”
She nods. “Please!”
Erik stands up and heads over to the kitchenette on the other side of the dorm. Vi’s phone buzzes on the table.
Her heart thumps against her chest, a sense of worry, from the call from her father earlier today, she was tempted not to check it, to best protect her mood.
But she takes the risk.
She smirks.
‘This guy… How did he hear about it so quickly?’

Her phone buzzes in her hand, numbers she doesn’t recognise.
Vi stares at her phone… Surely not… She’s been added to the model group chat??
Erik returns with her glass of water, sitting down next to her as she refreshs her emails again.
“Holy shit.” Erik says, grinning, shaking her leg.
“IT’S OFFICIAL!!!”
Good afternoon girls.
The new line up is out. I will be in contact for your individual shoots.
You all know the standards I expect.
As you all know, there are two version of the announcement. One for our ‘adult’ content, and one for our general modelling.
Since we have three newer girls joining us, I want to reassure you all.

Erik glances at Vi, she has her nose in her phone, texting that new group chat she got added too. He scrolls up on the website, his eyes settling on Vi and the girls she’ll no doubt be seeing more of.
‘She’s so hot… All these girls are… What kind of lives must they lead? What kind of experience's will Vi have now?
A chill runs through Erik as he takes in Vi’s expression of pure excitement and elation.
…
He knows. Consciously he knows. Of course he does. Vi doesn’t let him forget. Vi even pushing him more to explore his side of the relationship, even threatening to pause her side if he doesn’t pull his socks up… But there it remains, that voice he thought he had squashed months ago, rearing it’s head once again.
‘Can I keep up? Will she actually stop if it came down to it? Would she compromise this career and opportunity… For me?’
