Into the Maze

Evan, Glarka, and Jillian talked with each other for a moment before entering the clearly marked maze area. The stone of the area seemed to be some kind of blue limestone. Before long they came to a three-way fork in the path, each of the breakaway points had a sign that had a slight statement. The path straight ahead was blocked off by what seemed to be a wall of solid granite with the sign near it "All Companions must be intimately close" which caused all 3 to look at each other with a dawning understanding of what that could mean; the path to the right said "Merchants and Thieves can often be confused for one another, sometimes they are one and the same" and Jillian decided to head down that route alone, the path to the right said "A Pair must be along to progress the path" which caused Evan and Glarka to look at each other and shrug.

"Be safe," said Evan as Jillian parted from him and Glarka.

"I intend to be that and careful," said Jillian. "You two be careful, who knows what is waiting for us down any of these paths."

"As long as there is something for me to hit," said Glarka, "I won't feel too out of place."

"I'm sure each of the paths will have something we each find challenging," said Evan. Jillian just nodded and headed off down the path she chose.
