Into the Dungeon

Deeper and deeper you crawl into the dark cave, **** to be away from Lord Grim.

As you go you first see a soft light. Then you notice a thick pink-purple mist. The light seemed to emanate from the strange fog. You were entering it. It starts light and misty but it gets thicker and thicker and soon you are enveloped by it. Only able to see a foot or two in any direction.

As you breathe the mist you jolt and writhe and let out a gasp. "Ungh!"

It wasn't a bad feeling, quite the opposite. You feel...life...flow through your body where none had been a moment ago. In deep greedy breaths you take in the revivifying mist. The burning in your eyes and throat go away. The seared skin of your neck is soothed. You feel your strength return to you, both mental and physical.

You finally find the will and power to get off your hands. Spinning around you come to a sitting position. You continue to breath...breath...breath. Every breath a mercy.

The mist restored you, rejuvenated you, possibly even cleaned you. You soak its healing power into your resurrected flesh.

Reaching out you place a hand against the warm stone wall. Not natural stone, yet not crafted either. Leaning against it you get to your feet. You could feel a weight to your limbs, you could sense your heart beating and your blood flowing. You were alive again! You still couldn't remember much from before...but for now this was enough. You hug your body, you slap your face, you jump up and down. Never had you been so happy just to be alive.

Running a hand over your face you start to take account of where you were. Unfortunately the life giving mist made this impossible. You couldn't even see to the end of your arm before the soft glowing fog blotted your vision completely. Sound too seemed to be swallowed up by it. Your motions were strangely muffled, swallowed up by the pink-purple haze. You had a distinct feeling smell was also similarly dampened. The mist made it impossible for you to sense what was outside your immediate surrounding.

Looking down you see you had a basic set of adventuring gear. It was already worn and equipped, proper gear for your profession. While you couldn't remember details you knew your own equipment back in the real world was much nicer than this.

The cave seemed to go only in two directions. Back the way you came, and ahead into who knows what.

You knew you didn't want to go back, quite literally back to hell, so you move forward.

Keeping the pads of your fingers brushing along the warm smooth wall you carefully make your way onward. On and on it goes.

You are taken by surprise as you step out of the mist and into a rather normal looking room. You hear a noise behind you. Looking back over your shoulder you watch as the stone walls close in on the opening you had just stepped through, like a wound healing. Reaching back you feel this newly formed wall...solid.

There was no going back now. You were trapped inside Grim's Dungeon. The only way out was through it.
