Chapter 8 by JackKinnoph JackKinnoph

...Was to Throw it...

...Into a Crevasse! (End)

She frantically looked around, for any kind of hole in the ground. This was gonna be dangerous, no matter what. Marian was insane! She shuffled about the ground, until she finally found a thin tear in the earth, and, wasting no time, she slam dunked the bomb down it. She ran back and dove down, covering her head while she waited.

BOOOOOOOOMMM!!

The entire canyon rattled around them as the blast shook the very earth, and a rumbling filled the air as the crack was **** open into a gaping ravine. The sound that followed, however, was a terrifying screech. Tex looked up to see the bridge undulating, like the tail of a rattlesnake! The train above had nearly crossed, but the final few carts had derailed, and were now crashing down the canyon toward her. Her eyes shrank to dots when she read the words on one: Organic Fertilizer.

“Why me?” She wailed in defeat. A second later, the car filled with several tons of animal waste crashed down on her, flattening her, before tilting over the edge of the chasm, and falling, dragging the pancaked ranger down with it.

Marian walked over, hearing it all crash down. She couldn’t help but gag as a fountain of manure spewed from the hole for a second. No doubt the car exploded on impact with the bottom, and Tex, poor Tex, was buried under all of it.

“A bit worse than I had planned for ya. But hey. You shoulda just stayed in Gold Springs.” She rubbed the back of her head, before leaving the toxic abyss behind. “Welp. I’ve got a train to catch. Until next time, Sheriff.”

A crappy end, to be sure. Don’t miss the danger of the future distracted by the dangers of the present.

THE END
