Infinite Wish Engine

It had started out like any other day, the morning after my 18th birthday. Got ready and dressed for another day of school, left a run down cheapo apartment that was surprisingly clean and headed off to school. I walked into school and went to class like any other day, only to find some new level test sitting in front of me with stuff that I swear hasn't been covered before.

The teacher having an almost evil smile on her face as she explained that this was one of the tests we'd be doing by the end of the year, a sadistic look on her face as she took clear joy in watching the hope die in her students eyes. Someone tried asking if she'd be covering the material so we could learn it and her response was that we were on our own for the purpose of that test. She had OTHER work for us to do apparently.

With class over everyone left with what the students felt was the TEST FROM HELL to take home, to try and study on their own. By the time school ended I found myself with 4 more tests in my pack as I went home, the other students looking like they had lost all hope, much like I'm sure I looked at this point. I walked into the apartment, heading into my room and basically frying my brain as I tried to understand what these tests were and how to do them.

It was nearing 11PM by the time I finally gave up, struggling for hours, through dinner, and finally spending half an hour trying to relax and calm myself down. With a sigh I closed my eyes "I wish I was just a little smarter, at least enough to understand the test questions. Maybe I'll have better luck after getting some rest."
