Infiltrating the castle

I focused on waking up Tori. "Ah, that nap was great." I felt pretty refreshed.

I got up and went to put on a light jacket, before taking one last look at Tori's room. "Time to say goodbye to this place." I glanced at the small mirror that was hanging on Tori's wall, and smiled. "I've only been you for a day, Tori, but it was nice. And you're not too bad despite what people may think."

I left Tori's house and walked towards the forest. I was anxious, but Tori and Sayaka's personalities gave me some courage. My goal was to observe and find someone heading towards or from the castle, knock them out, carry them back near the entrance of the forest and possess them. I wanted to carry them far from the castle in order for Tori to not get too close to it. When I'll release her, she might be weirded out. I didn't even know if she would remember what I did as her, after all.

I hid in some bushes not far from the path I saw the woman take last night, waiting for someone. It seemed like it was the main path leading to the castle, so I was bound to notice anyone coming.

After a moment, a woman in combat gear was approaching. "Patrolling is so boring..." She sighed. “No thief would be dumb enough to come back, anyway..."

Patrolling? They're still looking for me? Fuck, I need to be even more careful…

I rushed towards the woman and punched her as hard as I could. I needed to knock her out in one hit, as she seemed to be a trained fighter.

"Argh!" The punch took her by surprise, knocking her down face first. I had to thank Tori’s insane brute strength for that.

My new plan was to keep possessing Tori and bringing her near Sayaka's house to return the part of me that's inside her, while possessing the woman and infiltrating the castle. I didn’t want Tori to be caught due to my negligence. I wasn't confident at all in my ability to handle three bodies at once, but it would only be for a short amount of time, since Sayaka was currently sleeping.

I carried the woman into the bushes before she could regain her senses and kissed her, sending a part of me inside her, before quickly leaving as Tori. As I got in control, I stood up and left the bushes, looking at my new body and at her memories.

"So, her name is Harper, huh?"

The woman I just possessed was a trained security guard for a private company hired by a billionaire. The billionaire in question was most likely the one behind everything, but Harper didn't know much. She was just following orders.

I chuckled, hidden behind my perfect disguise. "Let's see what's inside the castle for real, now."

Harper's body felt as strong as Tori's, but even more flexible. It was extremely comfortable to be her, but I had a goal and didn't have the time to focus on that. I went towards the gates, looking at Harper's memories to see what she knew about the place. The castle was well-protected, with ten trained security guards and a lot of cameras. In total, there were twenty-four people working in it, and the castle had some restricted areas that were only accessible to the billionaire guy, the chief of security, Liliana, and the lead scientist, Kira.

Probably where they keep all the shady stuff.

The billionaire wasn't there tonight, so it left me with the choice to possess Liliana or Kira if I wanted to find out what they're hiding. Not that I would jump on the opportunity to possess an old guy anyway if I could avoid it. Liliana would be harder to get due to her skills, but Kira always stayed alone in her office, so I decided to go for her.

I saw Gillian, one of the grunts there, guarding the entrance. I remembered him, as he was the one sleeping in the warehouse. Harper was higher-ranked than him, so it shouldn't be difficult to deal with him, especially with Harper's face and memories.

"Gillian, I hope you're not slacking off again?"

He apparently got punished since I managed to sneak past him. "No ma'am. I'm keeping my eyes open for anything strange."

"Good. Don't make the same mistake again. Stay on guard."

Gillian gave me a military salute and replied. "Yes ma'am!"

I quite enjoyed the feeling of authority Harper's status gave me, but did my best to keep a straight face. I crossed the gates and walked through the garden, towards the main entrance. The garden was really beautiful, even with the wild flowers growing everywhere. Some employees loved to take their breaks there, as it felt relaxing.

I got chills while walking through it, for some reason. Why do I have the feeling I'm being watched? I looked around but didn't notice anything or anyone apart from all the flowers.

I felt really uneasy around here, so I hurried my pace. I reached the entrance and that feeling stopped, making me breathe a sigh of relief.

As Tori, I was also getting near Sayaka's house. I was relieved because I managed to successfully pilot her there. Being in three bodies was disorienting at first, but I was slowly getting better.

"Finally there… It was fun, Tori, but it's time to let you free."

I knelt, ready to leave her body and reunite this part of me with Sayaka. Most of me stayed in Tori, only a fraction of me possessed Harper.

Speaking of Harper, we went inside the castle, and I did my best to not look surprised. The interior was more modern than I thought, and very well-furnished. The guy had some expensive tastes.

He's a billionaire, after all…

Using Harper’s memories to guide me, I confidently walked towards her office, ready to continue with my plan. I found her sitting on the coach, with a glass of wine in one hand, and some notes in the other. She's the woman I followed here last night…

I approached her, keeping a neutral expression. "Good evening, professor."

She glared at me and grumbled. "What do you want, Harper? I'm busy right now."

She seemed frustrated. She probably wasn't making as much progress as she had hoped. And me stealing some of her chemicals most likely also played a part in that. Considering that she was partially responsible for my situation, I couldn't help but enjoy her frustration, this spark of pettiness most likely coming from Sayaka's personality.

I came even closer, grinning. "Oh, I had something to ask you."

She raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"I need your body for a bit."

"W-what are y-"

I pinned her against the sofa and quickly pressed my lips against hers, sending myself inside her body. Harper fell **** on the couch, besides Kira.

She held her throat as I dissolved inside her. "W-what's... that...?"

I got in control shortly after, and smiled. The pettiness returned as I felt like I took **** on the woman who indirectly destroyed my body. I stood up, noticing how my thoughts were even faster than before."

Having the brain of a scientist is pretty good.

"Oww... What happened?" Harper groggily regained consciousness and left the couch.

I crossed my arms and gave her Kira’s annoying looks. "You fell **** in my office, Harper. That's what happened."

She was confused and looked around for a few seconds. "W-what? W-why am I here? I was just patrolling in the forest..."

They don't remember anything while I'm possessing them? That's good. I let out a loud sigh."I don't know. But maybe you should get back to patrolling and stop bothering me."

Harper seemed to think for a brief moment, before answering. "M-maybe I should, yeah… Sorry for bothering you."

Harper left, and I let out a sigh of relief. I could finally go to the restricted area in peace. I grabbed Kira's security card and headed straight for it.

Meanwhile, I managed to retrieve the piece of me in Tori and reunite it with the part of me that was inside Sayaka. Despite the uneasiness I felt from being outside of a body, I stayed a few minutes to observe Tori. She also didn't remember anything and mumbled as to why she was near Sayaka's house before leaving.

The restricted area was a long corridor going deep underground. It took me a few minutes to reach the end of the stairs.

What are they hiding here? I searched in my host's memories. Her mind was such a mess that it took a bit of time. But when I found out, I was aghast... "A-A... demon? They... have a demon... locked up?"

They captured a demon a while ago and have been using her for their research and experiments ever since. The whole point of that was to find ways to enhance mankind, but it was mostly so that the guy could get even richer by selling his findings to the various militaries of the world… The book I found and stole alongside the chemicals was a book detailing different kinds of demons and how to summon them....

"I... I need to see it..."

I went towards the cell in which the demon was contained, my curiosity needing to be satiated. I opened the door, and saw it, or her… The demon… It looked like a young girl, but her slit pupils were real. She was wearing a sort of gothic lolita outfit.

I slowly approached her, apprehensive. Despite being a demon, she seemed harmless. She was tied up and ****, barely able to move her head to look at me.

"You… You're... the one... I... saw..." She muttered in a weak, sweet voice.

"What do you mean?" I suddenly felt something stinging me on the back of my neck. "W-what's... that..." I dropped to my knees, losing strength fast...

"Seize her! Gag her and put her in the containment cell! Under no circumstances should the gag be removed!" Liliana’s voice shouted.

H-how…

I fell on the ground, unable to move anymore. Before falling ****, I caught a glimpse of the people behind me… Harper and the chief of security... Liliana.

I cursed internally. You... bitch…

I lost consciousness, but I managed to wake up Sayaka right before I did… I jumped out of bed in panic...

"Oh fuck!" My mind was racing like crazy. I was starting to get really scared, and was pacing back and forth anxiously, biting my finger... "How the fuck did they find out!? I imitated Harper and Kira perfectly! How!?”

I quivered in fear... I saw all the horrible things they did, and are still doing, to the demon girl, thanks to Kira's memories… No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't wake up my other body. She had been sedated with a tranquilizer dart, after all...

I... I need to play dumb when she wakes up… M-maybe it'll work…

I had no faith in that, but I didn't see anything else I could do… After a while of walking aimlessly around, I stopped near the bed.

"T-there's nothing I can do… Sayaka needs to sleep... I can't just keep her awake. And I can't try to get back to the castle right away, just after being found out..."

They most likely were tightening the security at that moment.

I went back to bed and grabbed one of Sayaka's plushies, hugging it tightly against my chest… W-why…

I fell asleep, sobbing into the plushie, cursing my own stupidity, as well as Tori and Sayaka's overconfidence.

When I regained consciousness, I was in front of a pair of giant wooden doors surrounded by roses. No matter where else I looked, there was just a giant white void.

Is it a dream? When I looked down, I saw my real body, with the clothes I was wearing before becoming a monster. W-where am I?

The doors slowly opened and I saw a shadowy figure behind them, their glowing red eyes observing me.

"W-who are you?"
I took a step back. After what happened, the only thing I could feel right now was fear.

In a fraction of a second, the figure appeared in front of me, hugging me. It was the demon from the castle…

"You are the one I saw… A monster with a human soul..."

At this distance, she seemed cute, to the point of almost making me forget about her nature.

"W-what do you mean?"

“You possessed that ginger woman, and then the scientist, didn't you?"

"H-how did you know?"

She laughed, as if I said something silly. "Because I saw you through the plants, of course. I didn't expect to see a being as unique as you. It's a shame you were caught." Her laugh then turned into a sinister grin. "But don't worry, all these filthy humans will soon be dead."

"W-what? W-why?"

“They don't deserve to live, and I'd be happy to have you help me punish them. I'm too weak to keep this up for much longer, but we'll meet again."

"Wait!"

She snapped her fingers, smiling at me. And everything went dark.
