Chapter 56 by frogogre1

Where is his new magic training lair?

In the old tower

Several days passed as the Condiment wizard waited for his lair. It was taking so much time to do the fact that the authorities were double-checking everything twice to be sure Arkham Asylum was good and ready to operate without added police support to deal with any surprises. This oversight prevented his minions from getting the work needed done.

Though once they were gone, his minions worked at double time to get it done quickly. So just as Condiment Wizard's excitement was turning into disappointment, he saw Cheryl approach. "Condiment wizard, it's time for your appointment." Cheryl says, causally escorting him out of his cell and down the halls. Though instead of the office Mrs. Young had, he was taking it to the old tower where he had performed his great condiment storm spell.

Cheryl brought him to a midway point up the tower and then guided him into a room. The room was a large circular thing that had cauldrons, cabinets filled with condiments, and a few small tables. "Your lair to work in, master." Cheryl said, gesturing to the room and its contents around them. A hopeful look on her face, eager for his approval.

"It will work wonderfully. Condiment wizard said happily, and went towards one of the cauldrons. Cheryl left to stand at the door to the room. So to not disturb him and make sure he was not disturbed. The Condiment wizard stood there over the cauldron a moment, thinking on how to fight about getting a fourth magical condiment. Then it occurred to him that he had just gained the first two.

So perhaps he should do as before and let the magic guide him to a fourth condiment. He felt the magic as it built into his hands as he was trying to make a condiment he hadn't before. As the power built, it solidified on his hands and then fell off in patches into the cauldron. He looked to see what was inside and found, to his surprise, it was sauerkraut.

A strange thing, as before, his condiments had been liquid in nature, and sauerkraut was far more solid. It was good to know that he had access to the more solid condiments, though now he has to figure out what it did. So he poured more sauerkraut into the cauldron, filling it to the brim. Now that he had enough, he used his magic to cast a spell with the sauerkraut in the cauldron and waited for a moment with excitement at what would happen.

In the next moment a giant white bush-plant creature appeared. It seemed to look at the Condiment wizard for a moment, somehow silently asking for orders. "Show me what you can do." The condiment wizard commanded the creature, and it quickly grabbed one of his tables with its branches and crushed it in a second. The sound caused Cheryl to burst into the room, gun drawn.

"No worries, my guard is merely testing my latest spell. It has given me this creature to play with. Now return to your post." Condiment wizard said it, and Cheryl obeyed, though she did give the white bush creature side-eye. The Condiment wizard looked at the creature with a happy smile. If sauerkraut gave him access to magical plants, though, he would have to do more testing to be sure it could give him quite the cover.

For if he used sauerkraut to wreak havoc with plants, everyone would assume it was poison ivy or one of the other lesser-known plant villains. "Oh, I have much to study with you, for you offer me a unique power." The Condiment wizard said, trying to sound like a proper wizard. The white bush creature just waved happily at his attention.

He worked with the plant monster and used more sauerkraut to find out how much plant power it was capable of and if plant power was the full extent of it. He needed to do a rather important test. As his sauerkraut was white in color, as was his tartar sauce. So he needed to test if the resurrection was unique to tartar sauce or perhaps white-colored condiments. He would also have to test if mustard or ketchup also had a raise the dead ability. Though as he looked at the table below him he now had to wonder whose body he could get to test this hypothesis.

Does the test prove true and whose corpse is used to prove it?
