In the market trying to pinch a few coins

It was a hot day in Edain and the great market was filled with slow-moving, lazy crowds. All the town's finest were dressed in their summer best, walking up the boulevard where they would be seen.

She watched the crowd carefully, trying to determine who was rich enough, who was spending money freely enough, and who was drunk enough not to notice if a few coins ended up missing.

If they did notice, they weren't likely to suspect her. Cleverly she had donned the short pink skirt, matching silk blouse and purple robe similar to what one of the queen's handmaidens would wear, if you didn't look too closely.

There! That was a likely target. Carefully she made her way through the crowd.
