In the forest

You make good progress through the forest on the first day but the next day you find the trail seems to magically disappear. Trees and roots, thorns and branches block your path threatening to knock you off your horse or lame him. You keep catching glances of something in the trees just moving out of site each time you look.

You come to a stop and dismount "Reval yourself!" you shout.

"You are not welcome here strange dragon that rides" A voice sounds out. Behind you from the shadows steps...
