In the mid 90's

Winona's Ryder had taken off in the late 80's/early 90's. She quickly became a rising star of Hollywood from her films with Tim Burton. But then, as she struck out on her own, there were some missteps. She had a few bombs, and the buzz went from 'Winona is a talented, rising star' to 'Winona can't really act though, can she'. She found herself uncertain and insecure in the middle act of her career.

Making things worse, she wasn't adapted to fame at all. She found herself too shy to handle all the constant attention. This was where she found herself in the middle of the 1990's.
