I caught Eden gawking. "Jeeeeeeez, you weren't lying," she gasped. Then she looked guilty. "Not like I thought you were, though. You know what I mean."
Smirking, I ignored her. As much as I would have loved to gloat about the pretty girl's number in my phone, I'd reached out to her for other reasons. But it didn't hurt to be polite.
So much for a "no triple texting" policy. First Luke and now Rania. I felt better about it this time, since she wasn't going to hold it over my head in return for sexual favors or something (though, I wouldn't be mad if she did...), but it was messing with my cool girl self image. Ugh. I waited for her response, because I was afraid I would sound like an absolute lunatic if I said anything more now.
I dropped my phone beside my lap for a second. The screen felt hot to the touch, like it was summertime and I hadn't kept it out of the sun. Realistically, I knew it was just my skin feeling extra sensitive, and the fact that I hadn't turned off the screen in a while. I'd lost track of time. The evening was now night, true blue. Eden had gone back to her room to read or listen to music, believing I was in good hands. I think.
