Chapter 3 by HenryKajitani HenryKajitani

What is different?

In a skirt after-hours

Lucy groggily peeled her face up from the hard table. Still dazed, she blinked her eyes as they adjusted to her surroundings.

The subtle glow of the cloudy skies outside didn't do much to brighten the dimly lit diner. The lunch rush must have been light if no one had woken her up. Seems like they've also closed up already. That's not too surprising since the diner didn't stay open for dinner.

Gathering her senses, Lucy wiped the thin line of drool from her face. As she stood to stretch, Lucy noticed something felt a bit looser than normal. Looking down, she saw a frilly checkered skirt adorning her legs. Her eyes darted over to the table where she spotted a note.

You were asleep, but I thought this skirt would look great on you. That's what you get for sleeping on the job :p
- Steph
P.S. Your jeans are in the back. I'm not so mean that I'd make you walk home in this weather.

Steph, one of the managers, did get carried away sometimes, but removing her pants in the middle of the diner? Just how many people saw her bare legs and panties? Lucy could only hope that Steph waited until only Kate was around.

Skirts were not Lucy's style. She might've worn a skirt or dress on a rare special occasion, but they made her anxious. Getting her jeans back on was her first priority.

Lucy half stumbled her way to the kitchen, still not all there after her rather long nap. Maybe she shouldn't have stayed up so late talking with Cassy after moving in the day before.

Scanning the kitchen, she didn't see her jeans. Steph should've been more specific with her note. The back could mean just about anywhere except the dining area.

What happens next?
