In a rage

Obviously lost to panic, Erica fled screaming up the stairs as Jess and Lyndsey shouted for her to stop. Hunter threw his head back and howled, bounding up the stairs after Erica, his mind clouded with pain and rage.

He caught her at the door to the master bedroom, grabbing her with his powerful hands and throwing her shrieking across the room and onto the bed before pouncing after her, pinning her down and howling in fury as he glared down at her terrified face, feeling the bloodlust pour through him as he stared at her pulsing throat. His jaws dripped saliva, and he threw back his head and howled, fighting the impulse to tear her soft throat out, but feeling the animal side of him winning the struggle of wills.

His arm and head still throbbed with agony from where she had hit him with the silver candlestick. He felt an urgent need to tear her apart, and he snarled at her, his lips curling back from his lethal fangs as Jess and Lyndsey screamed at him from the door.
