Chapter 3 by Arthor Thomarius Arthor Thomarius

Where exactly on Earth did the Lamp land, and who finds it?

In Detention, Mrs. Carson, the history teacher.

The bell rang and Denise Carson checked her watch and her list. She had to proctor a two hour detention before she had to run to her daughter's gymnastics meet. Bethany had a real chance of following her older sister Helen's footsteps in getting an athletic scholarship to her dream college. Denise looked at a photo of her daughters in their bikinis on their last vacation, then Denise scrolled to view a picture of her husband Greg with his yoked shoulders and bulging pecks that were so wonderful to wrap her arms around. Denise was so enamored with the photos that she almost did not notice the lamp suddenly appearing on her desk with a POOF.

The woman picked up the lamp and looked at it with circumspection. The veteran teacher had seen a fair share of pranks in her time. But prank or not, the lamp was gorgeous. "That is strange." Denise said talking to herself. "This is an 8th century Arabian oil lamp, but the script here is definitely not Arabic, the icons look more like glyphs than calligraphy."

Mrs. Carson rubbed the lamp in an attempt to remove a smudge.

Is the Lamp Empty?
