Chapter 14 by Vain Vain

So, why has she come?

In , for what she's seen

"You know full well why I've come!" Reeza spits you right in the face, just when you think she's about to get reasonable, and it takes you some willpower to keep from striking her down where she stands. Her words makes sense however, and you hold yourself back while she continues. "I saw it with my own eyes, goblin! I watched while you defiled her in front of your tribe!"

"And did you see what became of her then?" You ask her, sighing while you wipe the spittle off your cheek. "Did you hear what was said? Or understood the necessity of my actions?"

"I... haven't found her yet." She admits, with her glare unfaltering. "But when I do I'll be bringing her home! Even if I'd first have to put her out of her misery with my own hands!"

"Then you're already too late." You tell her, and see that she's already prepared for the worst. Your words make her lose her footing by just a bit however, when you continue in a much softer voice. "I let her go, and I even gave back her weapons, so that she would make it safely back to your village. She's not in this village any more."

"Lies!" The woman just scoffs at you, and looks again like she's about to try and spit or even charge at your face. "Why would she even accept that, rather than fight to the **** to restore her honour...?!"

"It would appear that not all of your kind are as intelligent as her..." Is all that you say in reply, while shaking your head at your captive. "She killed several of my warriors, and yet I asked her for peace. She accepted my challenge, to restore thee honour of those she had slain, and even her punishment for failing to kill me when she had the chance."

"And now I've sent her back to your village, to let you know that I can at least be reasoned with... Would that truly be so hard to believe?" You can see in the amazon's eyes that all this is a little too much for her to comprehend at once, but your talk of honour and a treaty for peace seems to be something she can relate to. "I did what I had to, to honour the fallen, as I deemed it a much better fate than to take someone's life. I'm not such a barbarian as you may think, though I agree that in any other situation, my actions certanly were..."

"You.... put her on trial?" The amazon just stares at you, finally seeming to understand some little bit of what you're trying to tell her. "With your own life on the line...?"

"If you claim that you saw what I did to her, you must also have seen us fighting?" You ask her, then look at her while the last of her anger reluctatly leaves her. "And now I've got yet another warrior on my hands, even as I've sent the first one to negotiate for peace with her tribe. You're certainly not making this any easier for our tribes...!"

"Then... let me stand trial as well!" She demands, with some of the heat returning to her eyes. "Prove to me that you fight with honour, and I will make sure that all the others will listen to your 'embassador'...!"

"And you think it will be so easy?!" You return, with some heat of your own as you swirl back to face her. "My tribe accepted that I let one of you go, with a trial of arms, so that she could speak to your people on our behalf. But what if I treated every stranger to our village with the same hospitality, even when they killed several of my people?! However generous I may be, I cannot let my people be butchered for every time I tried to make peace!"

"I... can understand that..." The woman even manage to look a little embarrassed by your outburst, and now she just hangs her head while trying to figure some other way out of this predicament she's put herself in. You've got a few solutions ready fr her of course, and now you just ponder how to put them in words she can understand...

So what is your deal for her?
