You are sitting in a comfortable seat on a plane about to land at New York JFK Airport, where you should make a scale to pick up your next flight to Los Angeles, your destination.

During the almost 9 hours since the plane took off from Madrid, there have been dramatic changes in America, with the approval of The Recolonization Law. But being on a plane in the middle of the Atlantic, you have no way to stay up to date with the news.

You are a Spaniard 24 years old man who has just recently finished your college architecture studies in Madrid and has accepted his first job at a company in LA with a reasonably high salary, and that is why you are in a first-class seat heading to your new life. How did you get it? Studying hard, being the best in your promotion... and being born into a wealthy family. Just kidding, it was only for the last reason. You get the job thanks to your father's money and contacts.

You belong to a wealthy family in the Basque Country, but you have lived all your life in Madrid because your parents moved there in the 90s to expand the family investments. So, even if you have a Basque name and can trace your roots as a pure Basque man for many generations, your exposure to Basque culture and language has been limited to a few months a year during your summer vacations, so you consider yourself more a Spaniard from Madrid than a Basque.

Given your family status, it is no surprise that your political views are more in line with the conservative right-wing political parties than the socialist or communist parties. A liberal rich boy, that is what you are.

Due to your political inclinations, the idea of going to live in America, a country that has an increasingly more and more conservative drift, sounds appetizing. You hope that one day, the improvements made in America will be exported to Europe.
