Ignore Amy

Matt saw nothing but trouble interacting with Amy while he was in the midst of flirting with Wendy. Sure he might have handled things better in the first place but he'd made his decision and he was going to have to live with it.

He ignored Amy's pleading look and turned back to Wendy. "So, do you want to go out sometime this week."

She blushed, which was cute given her red hair and freckles. "Uh, you'll have to be more specific."

Yeah, that might have been smart. At least it wasn't a no, though. "I can do specific. Let me Google around for something fun and I'll call you. See you in Trig, okay?"

"See you there." She brushed a hand across his upper thigh. "Bye."

Matt stopped to chat with Ophelia and offered to buy her another coffee.

"Nah. I can't keep up with you, Matt."

"What?"

"You have those two girls messed up in their heads over you. You even think about what you do to other people. I know you think about what they do to you but they're people too."

He shrugged. "I know. I'm trying to do the right thing."

"You're trying to get laid like every other teenage boy. Which is understandable 'cause you got your hormones runnin' wild but that don't make it right."

"Want me to buy you a coffee so you can lecture me in more detail?"

She laughed. "You got some charm to you but I'm going to pass on this one."
