As the world around her opened up Allie felt at peace. Her eyes cleared and the daylight seemed a bit brighter... maybe it wasn’t too bad. As if in a dream a little colorful bird came fluttering down from on high and sat on her shoulder... she stopped, not wanting to scare it off as it chirped a little song.
A smile crept onto her face as she let out a tiny giggle, and then began to walk again... nothing seemed out of the ordinary as the bird left her shoulder not too long afterwards. The silence that the lack of its song brought didn’t seem to bother her as much as she thought it would... but maybe it was to do with her hallucinations.
Her eyes were deceiving her, letting her stare up at a sky that was moving like it was in a time-lapse... She stuck to her trail and just kept walking and walking staring around trying to find something... until... she couldn’t... She fell to her knees... her stomach was empty... she didn’t know how... she had felt so full just a minute ago... but now... it was like she had been walking for days. In fact, the woods had changed shape... as if she wasn’t so deep in them anymore... fewer shrubs and more hills...
Her eyes shot open as the thought came to her and she shook a bit, gripping her sides as she tried to count the number of times the sky had gone to night... the amount of time this forest had robbed from her. Her count came back multiple times because each time she thought she had done it... it was too impossible... two weeks... fourteen days had passed... this forest had taken from her without her even knowing.
But now... she needed water... food... how she was alive was a mystery to her... three days would have left her dead from dehydration. But then it struck her... it hurt her to even consider it... but maybe... just maybe those beasts had pumped enough nutrients for her to live.... oh god please let it not be the case. She didn’t want to have survived if she did so on monster cum...
With a shuddering breath, she stood and headed off into the woods in search of water...
