IR Day 4 - Find your coaches

Your day is even stranger now. You take Ingrid straight back to Michelle and Angela and demand an explanation.

"Why wouldn't you be in there with her?" you ask Angela, who obviously wants you to calm down. Ingrid seems really stressed out... you hold her hand tightly so she can't do anything inappropriate with it.

"OK. OK." Michelle pushes us to the kitchen, where Bee, the blindfolded lady who takes care of the lodge is cleaning the dishes from lunch.

"You just gave her to them," you accuse Angela.

Bee stops what she's doing.

"You know what? We'll take care of this," Michelle says cheerfully, taking the towel out of Bee's hands.

"OK." Bee leaves the four of you in the kitchen.

"I know. Ingrid, I was wrong. I was wrong," Angela repeats to you. "I know that. I thought she was ready."

"Ready for what?" you ask.

"Ready to make a decision herself."

Ingrid looks a bit hurt, and you put your arm around her. You see where Angela is coming from... Ingrid does need to... do that. But just sending her to talk to those people was bad.

"You could've warned her. You could have told her what they wanted," you say.

"She is an adult." Angela puts her hands on her hips and matches your stare.

Michelle keeps doing the dishes, probably wondering if she should intervene. But you are done fighting.

Angela is right, but there was a better way to do it.

"It is OK," Ingrid says.

You let go of her and control yourself. It is OK. No one was harmed, but it just seemed mean...

"Wait. You have the contract," you say to Angela. "Why? Why not Ingrid?"

"Because the contract would tell her what they are planning, and then she might tell everyone else," Angela replies. Right... there's a lot of secrecy around this new league.

"You two should relax," Michelle says, still busily washing dishes for Bee. "No one has to sign anything today. They would not expect Ingrid to sign before the announcement anyway. She has time to think."

Michelle is right. You help her with the dishes and try not to think about those three women, but later on at dinner Michelle stops you before you can sit down next to Ingrid. She takes you to another table.

"I'm sorry I got mad at Angela," you say before she can tell you how wrong that was.

"It's fine. We know how you feel about Ingrid. Hell, everyone knows," she says. "You are kind of obvious."

It's true.

"And you are going to have to control that," Michelle goes on, giving you a serious coach look.

"I know. I'm here for soccer." But soccer is everywhere... soccer is not going anywhere. But your dream girl is only here...

Michelle won't care about that. She wants you to play soccer and win.

"What do you think?" she asks.

"About what?"

"About that offer."

"She's beautiful. She would be great." You sigh. "I wish they weren't so obvious about how they want a white blonde."

"You're living proof that they're right, though. You probably looked at her and fell in love," Michelle says. She knows you pretty well.

"It's still not cool." There are a lot of pretty girls at the camp, and why does the face of the thing have to be someone pretty? It should be someone good at soccer, and it should not matter what they look like. It is all kind of annoying.

"What if they made you that offer?" Michelle asks.

"They didn't."

"They will, though."

You are surprised. "You think so?"

"You. Adella. Lara maybe. Duni for sure," Michelle says, looking thoughtful. "Maybe Olivia, maybe not. Olivia would be a good choice, but she models underwear in her spare time, so I don't know if she's the one they want."

"She models underwear? Do you really think I'll get that offer?"

She nods. "You will. Especially if Ingrid says no. In fact, if she says no they'll come to you next. What would you do?"

Getting pictures taken of you and maybe being kind of famous? Wow.

You will have to think about that.
