Chapter 11 by MidbossMan MidbossMan

What should I do next?

I swap places with Kinzo, then bar the door with magic (Pink Trigger)

There was simply no time for a magic battle at this point. Instead, I decided to use Kinzo's own trickery against him. I grabbed hold of his shoulders, spun him around, then shoved him bodily out towards the hallway. He didn't feel like an old man... he was almost immovable. Only the power of the Pink Trigger had allowed me to budge him at all. Even as he began to cackle at my seemingly pointless efforts, I reached both hands outward, slamming shut the massive door of his study in a **** maneuver. I could still hear his laughter outside, but I knew... that door held a powerful magic seal. I reinforced it with my own Pink Trigger, forming two solid metal bars that would hold the lock. There was no way in or out now...

I'd created a closed room, to put it in terms you mystery junkies would love.

Darkness was falling outside. It made me shudder to think about it; worse, I felt I saw fireflies fluttering just outside the massive window of Kinzo's study. Of course, they weren't fireflies... they were golden butterflies. The witch probably wasn't happy I was appropriating her night like this.

If you were thinking to yourself that I haven't talked a lot about Eva this route, I must say, your intuition is spot on. That very fact of forgetting one I was sworn to love came in to play as I turned to look hopefully upon her face. Eva is industrious, you see; she's not magical, but she is cunning. She also has a bit of tae-kwon-do experience. As I turned, I saw her leg shoot up; her foot caught me in the chin. I reeled back for just a moment, pointing my bright pink gun at her, but I didn't fire... couldn't, really. Not only was I forbidden to kill, but even now, I loved her.

"Why don't you give up...?!"

I felt my back hit the glass of the study's window as she berated me. It was small comfort, for the next moment, I felt another kick connect with my chest. The window burst behind me. I was falling, staring into Eva's furious face.

"And diiiiie?!"

Ah... I suppose a woman like her can't stand being treated as a trophy, rather than a combatant. I respected her greatly, as I plummeted through the terrible rainstorm towards the ground below. But I could never survive such a fall- could anyone? My neck was broken as I hit the ground head-first. I lay there, a wet corpse... the first corpse of a long night of them.

What's next?
