What's next?
I head into the town centre
Following the road ahead I decide to head through town and get home as quikly as possible. The houses turn from detached to semi detached to terraced without any major incident, though the whole time I'm tugging and pressing my short skirt down and feel like everyone who sees me is staring at me. I do figure out how to walk properly in the platforms and it doesn't take long before I'm not thinkihg about each and every step.
I turn a corner onto the high street and my heart sinks as it seems like the entire town is out shopping. The pavements are crowded and the road has cars queuing the whole length of the high street moving at only a snails pace, I even see a couple of my classmates wandering along apon the other side of the road.
Unable to run back with out looking suspucious and drawing unwanted attention I hurry along weaving through the people walking towards me and passing those walking the same way as me, but way to slowly for my liking. I'm sure I hear some gasps and mutters as people pass by and I definitely notice people staring and gawking when they see me, so I find myself ducking into the first alleyway I come and fortunately it's a side alley for a kebab shop and not a major through fare to a carpark or jini shopping arcade.
I stop just jnside it, behind a large wheelie bin and out of sight from the street to gather my composure. That was so much worse than I thought it would be and I'm not sure if I can make it all the way along the high street. I've barely made it a quarter of the way so far and I can't see it getting any better the further I go.
I turn and look up the alleyway thinking I could probably make my way through them following the high street and only have to cross a few roads and intersecting thoroughfares though it might mean climbing some gates and going through private poroperty, but surely it'll be easier than walking another half a mile up the high street.
