I hang around campus and the dorms

I sleep in because I can. When I finally decide to get out of bed, I find that Mason is not around. Emily and her boyfriend are out as well, so I’m left in the dorm alone. While I can hang around for the whole day, I figure it’s going to get boring after a while. So, I decide to get out and explore. It would be good to get a lay of the land, land being campus. I figure, since I have my class schedule already, I should at least find where they will be.

After exploring the campus a bit, it is already early afternoon. I got some lunch at a nearby fast food place and returned to the dorm. Emily and her boyfriend are back and of course, they’re making those awful sounds in my former bedroom. I’m surprised to find Mason making out with a fellow Student X-Change Program participant, Olivia. What was a boring, deserted dorm room is now crowded, so instead of lingering in the common room hearing the distracting sounds from each of the bedrooms, I make my way into the hallway, thinking of exploring the place.

I am on the first floor, which by first floor, it actually means the second floor in the building. The first level has a big kitchen which is available to everyone staying there. There is also a laundry room and a couple rooms that students could use for parties.

I decide to go to a different floor to see who stays there. While a few of the doors are closed, which I decide not to try opening them, the others are open, giving me a glimpse of what or who’s inside once I pass by the door. I mostly see rooms that are identical to mine and some have students that I do not recognize. One room on the second floor actually has my fellow Student X-Change Program participant, Amelia, but since she is on the phone, I only wave hello in passing. Also on this floor, there are a couple guys that are talking outside of their room. I speak up to let them know I’m passing by them. I only realize who they are when they talk. One of them is named Zack and the other is named Josh. Those are two names that were on that list Emily provided.

Going up to the third floor, I find in one room the other participant from my group, named Charlotte talking with her mentor and a boy named Peter. He was also one of the names from Emily’s list. When I go up two more floors, I bump into a boy named James. He immediately comments on my chosen outfit, a T-shirt with some sleeper shorts. I pull away before he can advance on me with his wiles.

I go up to the top floor, which is the seventh floor with dorms in it, the eighth floor in the building, and run into the RA responsible for the first floor. He is a tall upperclassman who appears to work out in the gym or he is an athlete, as he sports a muscular torso. He is wondering why I’m on a different floor and I tell him that I’m just exploring. He advises me that most freshmen are on the first floor and upperclassmen take the dorms towards the higher floors. I tell him that I will follow his advice, considering it’s still early and classes haven’t started. It would be best not to get in trouble with the older students.

I leave, heading for the stairs, but I’m stopped by a man who traps me between his body and a closed door behind me. He is a sleazy man with a sinister smile on his face. I can already tell he is looking at me like I’m an object, not a person. “What’s a freshman like you doing up here? I got a guess. You’re a slut looking for someone to teach you your place.”

I can try to break free from his hold and get as far away from this floor as fast as possible. Though his words seem to stir something naughty inside me.
