Chapter 4 by alphakennyone alphakennyone

Do I find my license? If I do, is it mine? If not, whose is it?

I find my license, but curious to how it got there.

After 2 minutes of foraging, I manage to find a purse behind the passenger-side seat. It's a really good purse, yet small in size and small enough to hang over your shoulder and held in your armpit. What makes it a sight to see is that it's made of Gucci design. Along with the purse, I also find a small backpack sitting in the passenger seat in the back. It's a simple looking, black blackpack with two compartments. But I turn to the purse again. I open it to try to find a license of some kind. In it, I find basic makeup, lip gloss, a mirror, a dead cell phone, and a wallet. I open the wallet to find $500 dollar in cash, a membership card to someplace, and to my surprise, my driver's license.

I waste no time in taking it out. I take it out and get a good look at my picture there. It's not a mugshot picture, but a good picture anyway. This small picture gives me a glimpse of what I could see in a mirror. My skin is of a fair, light tan complexion and my hair is not what I have seen before. I don't think I needed to smile for this photo but I sure wished I did. Along with the photo, the information on the card says I'm 19 years old and the description match my description.

I take it out of the wallet, place the wallet in the purse and the purse on the passenger seat. I step out of my car and find the sheriff standing near the rear wheel with his ticket pad. I hand the card to the sheriff, who takes it back to his cruiser. I'm left to sit in the car to figure out how lucky I am to have a license. During this time I also try to find out how this freakish dream is becoming any more real. Unfortunately, reality is punched in my face when I hear the footsteps of the sheriff drawing near. I try to get ready to face the nearing dilemma.

"Well, everything checks out and I would assume everything is fine with you and your folks, Miss.." he says and stops to look at my license again, "Carpo."

"That's me," acting coy again. "Yes, everything is fine and well, officer." I really don't know any family related to this body but I try to act in such a way that I do.

"So are you okay with driving tonight, Miss?" the sheriff asks.

"Yeah, I'll think I'll manage," I say.

"Well, be careful out there. Sometimes these roads can get a bit dangerous," he tells me.

"I will," as I say this I roll up the window and find that the key is still in the ignition, turned to off mode. I turn it to turn on the car and I hope the car will start.

Does the car start?
