I come out

Thinking on it, the jig was up. Even if I used my Pink Trigger to its fullest advantage, could I count on Natsuhi and Genji to both play along? This guy was no dummy... I'd seen how sharp he was- and how loyal to the Ushiromiya family he was- thoroughly in my read-throughs of the Rokkenjima incident. It made me think that if he found out what I was doing, he might really come in and kill me.

I decided the best way to go about it would be to preserve Natsuhi's dignity by heading outside and shutting the door behind me. I'd occupy Genji at the door until she was redressed and ready to rejoin the others.

It was a noble gesture and a good reminder that the witch hadn't given me the luxury of spending my time on such chivalrous platitudes. I'd held up Genji chatting for about 30 minutes before I noticed the darkness at the end of the hall. It was night time, huh...

Night time...

I saw golden butterflies fluttering at the end of the hallway inside the darkness. With a hint more nobility left in me, I pushed Genji's shoulders down, just in time to stop whatever was speeding down the hallway towards him. I also protected anyone behind me, I figure, because whatever had been thrown at me only made it partway through my skull.

But partway was enough. I died with that spectacular image of Natsuhi's thong-clad ass still burned into what was left of my brains.
