Chapter 11 by Gatsha Gatsha

What can I do?

I ask Natsuhi to leave, but... (Pink Trigger)

Natsuhi was as lovely as always, but I didn't think Jessica and I would ever get started as long as she was here. At least, with Natsuhi gone, Jessica and I could start talking to each other directly, rather than speaking around her. With that in mind, I asked that considerate mother if she would mind leaving Jessica and I alone. I knew it was the day of some important event, and I was sure she had things to attend to. She could relax and leave her daughter to me. The next time she saw Jessica, her daughter would be an adult.

"Thank you, Mr. Player, that's- hm? What did you say?" Natsuhi began to turn for the exit, before turning back to me with a confused smile.

Uh... your daughter will be like an adult who has been speaking English all her life, <Miss> Natsuhi! Ha ha ha...

Natsuhi smiled politely, then headed for the door. She placed her hand on the knob, turned then jarred against the door. To her surprise, it was locked. "Mr. Player," she asked, looking slightly concerned. "Did you lock the door when you came in?"

... Hm. I did... I told Natsuhi that was simply part of my unique teaching methods. I didn't want to be interrupted while my session was in progress.

Natsuhi looked like she didn't trust that answer, but she'd clearly been anxious to leave on the pretense I'd given her. It wasn't a lie that this was one of the most important days of her life, after all. "Very well... Mr. Player... Kanon is one of our family's servants. I'll let him know to stay nearby. If you need anything, just stick your head out and call for him. Thank you, once again." I could tell she was mentioning Kanon's presence as less of a reassurance and more of a warning. Still, I thanked her for that and bid her <Goodbye.>

She locked the door behind her. Now that Natsuhi was gone, I was alone with her daughter. I must admit, my heart fluttered boyishly. Alone with a budding young woman in her bedroom...!

Well, I could see that feeling was one-sided. Jessica didn't even engage in conversation, intent to simply keep reading her magazine at her desk until I dragged her into our lesson, it seemed. To her, I must be the most boring, pointless possible detour before her time meeting those entertaining cousins of hers, who she rarely got to see together.

I'd probably have to start my lesson regardless. I'd have appreciated a little enthusiasm from the young lady about to receive her last lesson on earth. Ah, now I was thinking about that again. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts.

How will I get Jessica excited?
