"I can't make any promises, Mya, but I will see what I can do." I decided that leaving my options open in that moment was possibly the best strategy I could come up with.

Mya was smiling wide at that.

"Make it work and it'll be all worth it." She said to me then, a promise that I could only hope she can keep.

Now all I needed to do was make sure I'm around the fledging couple and whatever plans they'd had for me.
