Ashley collapsed onto the ground into tears, the realization dawning on her. She'd never thought anything she'd done was wrong because she'd thought it meaningless. But she understood now that while to her it wasn't important, to Jace it was. She'd always been bossy, done whatever she'd wanted to, and she's done whatever she thought would work to get her way with Jace. She'd lied and manipulated and rationalized everything to herself. And he was just done with her. Finally free.

After a few minutes of her crying, he finally asked her "would you rather know and understand that our door is completely closed and we are done and start to move forward from today or have that knowledge and understanding come over the next month as you wallow before you begin to move forward?"

You didn't really care what she picked through her crying. You simply said goodbye and started to walk away, your sisters following. Zoey ran over to you and gave you a big hug. "I'm sorry Jace. You didn't deserve that from her. Thank you for being so kind and helping her understand."

"Thank you Zoey." You whisper in her ear so no one else could hear. "Who knows how long I would have been duped without you. Start coming by more often again. I know Naomi misses spending time with you. Nothing you did was wrong and you don't have to avoid me. Promise."

Zoey nodded and released you. "I'll get her home safe." Zoey turned and gathered up Ashley before escorting her away.
