Hunting Vigilantes

Albert Einstein once said that “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.” truer words have never been said; well you could replace the word "human" with Sentient stupidity if you wanna be an ass about.

The point is that all people are capable of actions so profoundly stupid that it makes someone question if the race is on the verge of failure. To Shannon this question is raised whenever she reads reports about someone tries to live out the fantasies of those superhero books printed a thousand years ago. Sometimes police receive reports of vigilantes in bright, tight clothes being gunned down by gangsters they attacked in broad daylight. Other times these nutcases manage to butcher their way through a few dozen low life thugs and expect the police to hand them medals. Once in a blue moon a special type of idiot type of tries to get superpowers by radiating animals or harassing scientists to give them weapons or cause lab accidents

Lately the reports about these antics are happening more frequently, to the point where some criminals or normal citizens both human and alien have chosen to make up super villain personas. Maybe to fight the heroes, maybe because they were bored. The result is thousands upon thousands of accounts for in order of most frequent: indecent exposure, , property damage, grand theft ship, , arson, desecrating of a corpse, staking, breaking and entering, possession/use, child endangerment and assaulting an officer.

Shannon has just been assigned to a new division made to thin the crazies running around in tights. "should be pretty easy, they're just some idiots obsessed with fiction how difficult could this be?"
