Humans fascinate you (where to find a human)

You tell him that land-dwellers have always attracted you with their differentness, especially the humans. You have read so many romance novels about them and would love to see and learn about them through first-hand experience.

The Elderly turtle merman strokes his white mustache whiskers. Then shakes his head gently, his white hair rippling like a cloud of steam behind him.

"Ah... The youth drawn away by the exotic and the unknown." He sighs.

Then he raises his peach-blossom eyes and looks you straight in the eyes.

"Then let me share a few suggestions, young mermaid." He coaxes gently.

"Old granny-maid at the beach has an abundance of experience with humans, she has become one of the established experts on this field. Seek her out for sound advice that will do you in good stead."

Gesturing serenely towards the surface the turtle-merman continues:

"Of course, there are always people in need of saving from drowning. You way scour close to the ocean's surface for signs of these sorts of events."

"You could also approach a boat directly, but do be careful not to get hurt or struck by the boat. Especially be careful of the ones with propellers." Raising his eyes upwards mournfully, the faint glimmers of light brighten the yellow in his eyes. "many a life was lost needlessly that way."

"I would advise you to find a school of mermaids such as yourself to go seek out the humans on the sea. Much safer that way." He turns his attention back to you.

"You can either choose to join an already established school or form your own. I am sure a couple more newly initiated adults such as yourself with just the same interest will come our way soon." A faint smile curls his lips. "Having experienced teammates is the advantage with joining already formed schools, however, you will need to follow their rules and they might demand something of you before they count you as one of them."

The smile melts away, replaced by a severe look. "You can also go alone, but beware of other merfolk. They may as soon become your allies as your competitors for whatever human you come across. Or perhaps they will lay their eyes on you instead."

Then the elderly merman smiles warmly again, his eyes crinkling.

"Of course. You are an adult now. What you decide to do is entirely up to you, and you need not follow any of the advice from this old merman."

Having listened carefully to all of his suggestions you think that all of them have merit.
