What’s your defining Race?
Humanoid
The apparent and most commonly defined races are of option. Yet with you as it’s ruler, can design your race further as you grow in power.
(This merely is a default that which you’ll build from and I as the title-less author will hope to guide with your help.) - Title-less Author
Race options:
Humanoid - Humanoids are the original, living and sentient races who walk on two legs and use tools. Humans, elves, orcs, goblins, dwarves and other such races fall under this category. While not a physically capable as the other available races, they are very versatile and adaptive, having ferocious endurance and an unwavering willpower. Among all the races, humanoids are the most widespread and accepted in society.
Undead - The undead were once living creatures, now animated by supernatural or spiritual forces. Zombies, skeletons, wraiths, liches, vampires, and other such races fall under this category. As a relentless as they are, they continue to fight with stamina unmatched. The undead ignore pain, know no fear, and are immune to corruption. However, they are weakest against elements.
Beastial - The beastial derive from an ancient ritual of combining humanoids with beasts to compliment their strengths. Lycans, naga, harpies, centaurs and other such races fall under this category. Sharing the diversity of humanoids and the strength of beasts, they are able to excel in strength, agility, and heightened senses. However with the beastial savagery of nature within their blood, may descend into feral behaviors.
Construct - A construct is an animated object or artificially constructed creature, and some constructs act as living beings, animated by magic or some other form of energy. They can be make with any type of physical material for example; metal, wood, rock or flesh. Constructs are self-sustaining, and can be recreated, be improved upon, and reform if their soul containing core remains whole.
Elemental - Powerful spirits containing pure energy, they shape their body with a collective of a single element. Elementals have complete control over their element and have inner indestructible bodies as long as they have access to it. However, they are extremely fragile when confronting their opposing element, and thus are always in a war with each other.
Celestial - Celestials are often spirits or angels originating from the heavens. They are said to take many faces, but usually they usually an idealized being with perfect feature and form. They are great leaders, incredibly powerful, intelligent and have great magical affinity. However, they are weak to corruption and can easily fall from overwhelming darkness.
Demonic - Demons, devils and other infernal creatures known only as evil originating from the inferno below. They are said to take many faces, but usually resemble an idealized being of wretched form. They are the polar opposite of the celestials as natural catalysts of chaos, but are equally as powerful. However they are weak to the forces of light and cannot be healed through conventional means.
Draconic - Dragons were one of the first intelligent life forms, and have since then made their mark on the world as the most powerful races. You and some other few can achieve the form of theses ancient entities, but your minions will only be descendants of dragons in the form of drakes and dragonkin. They have great aspects, a vast diversity in types and appearance, as well as a wide array of different powers.
Monstrous - In legend they were called the forgotten ones, these mysterious are malefic horrors from the the endless void. You and some other few can achieve the form of these powerful terrors, but your minions will only be avatars created in your image. The avatars represent dark and powerful mockeries of life. Monstrous creatures have an affinity to destruction and dark magic, and their whispers can induce insanity.
With these options at your disposal, which will you choose? This decision will allow you to start building the foundations of a working society. From this you can branch further within your realm, discovering lost secrets and start founding a cultural lifestyle among your new race.
As the thoughts of how you’d like your people to look and live, form within your mind, you take the environment and affinity that you’ve choose into to thought as well. Constructs would be the easiest of choices, providing that they would make great builders and workers for purposeful use in mind. However you wanted to create a thriving culture that could build upon itself, even without the help of you at their sides. One that could build heritage through blood, and that could copulate and reproduce offspring.
So you decide to take the simplest of routes, choosing the Humanoids as your default race option. One that represents the caves that which they inhabit. They are easily defined as gnomes, particularly the sub-species known as a Deep Gnome.
They have wiry and lean bodies as hard as a slab of rock. The males usually have little to hair, going bald and beardless, while the females sported hair on their heads. They’d range from 3' to 4' (90–107 cm) in height and weighing between 40 and 45 lb (18–20 kg).
This variant of deep gnome complexions are sometimes described as "gnarled" and, like drow and duergar, were commonly dark in hue, with most deep gnomes demonstrating ashen or gray skin with dark gray eyes. Females typically had the hair color similar to their skin tones; hues of white to shades of black. These gnomes don’t live quite as long as their kin, with a life expectancy just under two centuries. The children are considered adults at roughly twenty years of age.
