Humanoid Races (More Info)

Human - The most populous of all the humanoid races. Not particularly skilled in any areas but they have incredible variance in skills making them effective jacks of all trades. Many human nations have adopted the religious stance that humans are the only pure race. They say Elves stole their magic from the gods and Demi-humans are subhuman abominations. Of course there are nations who reject these ideals, but the mantra of human purity has still been gaining traction over the last few decades.

Notable Evolutions: Human -> Demigod (Heavy and abstract requirements must be met to grow into a demigod, they must also be achieved before level 80 or evolution option is lost)

Fair Elves - A race that has been largely in hiding for thousands of years, rarely daring to leave their safe havens. Rare, beautiful and Exotic Elves are sought after as slaves by nearly every race leading to their necessary retreat from the mortal plane into their pocket dimensions called glades.
Elven biology is complex and misunderstood by many if not most other races. Elves are an almost entirely female race and as such many philosophers have concluded that elves should have a very high potential reproductive power. The fact that elves have been driven to near extinction and all but disappeared from the planet has stumped many for decades. The flaw to in this theory is their misunderstandings of Elven biology. Despite, looking, feeling and emulating fauna, Elves are functionally an omnivorous floral species and therefor monsters. They closely resemble plants in their biology and suitable male genes are very difficult to find as they require beings with compatible biology, which with the exception of rare humanoids born with a the special trait Plant Affiliation EX, are almost nonexistent.

Male Elves are unreasonably rare and have much shorter lifespans than female elves, living to a maximum of 2500 years. Because of these reasons they are treated as living gods in the few bastions of Elven land remaining. An Elf King may not bear a single son amongst all his years within the glade. If one were biologically compatible with their species and kill the Elf King within a glade (if there even is one) the females of the glade will quickly begin treating the usurper as the new master of the glade.

Elven pregnancies are unique in that they don't have determinate due dates. An elven woman can be pregnant for as short as nine and a half minutes to as long as nine and a half centuries before giving birth to an elf pollen.

Childbirth is sacred in Elven culture as the mother can feel and share emotions with the life inside her for as long as they are connected, this results in deep familial bonds. The duration of this gestation also greatly affects the newborn elf. An elf that was grown within her mother's womb for three centuries will be tremendously more powerful than one that is grown for only a few minutes. There are even legends in elven culture about an elven woman who bore her child for nine centuries, this elven child went on to become the elven goddess of the hunt, Lethelwynn.
As precious as the connection between mother and child can be, it is a very taxing experience as the child feeds off the mother's mana for nourishment. Very few elven mothers can last longer than a few months under this strain and if taken to extremes mothers can (and many do) die from mana depletion, due to an unwillingness to separate from their child.

Once born elf pollen is then placed within a Dew Pond Nursery to nourish them until they mature enough to be able to manipulate mana and create a body to protect the pollen, which is essentially the housing for their soul. So long as the pollen is not destroyed female elves can shed their bodies and return to the nursery they were born in to remake themselves. In doing so they will lose their memories and be reborn as a "new elf" that despite having no memories will share a very similar personality to the original. It is unknown why male elves are unable to be reborn this way.
After growing a body the elves will leave the nursery and their bodies will grow with them as they age. Both males and females can take anywhere from 14 to 1400 years to reach adulthood. The longer they gestated within their mother, the longer this takes as their lifespans increase alongside their inborn talent.

As a product of being creatures created from magic and plant matter, Fair Elves are beloved by the world and are naturally gifted with great affinity with Elemental and Nature magic.

Ancient Elven lore speaks of a race with a more powerful bloodline known as Alves but it is currently unknown if this race truly existed or is simply legend.

Notable Evolutions:
Elf -> High Elf -> Celestial Elf,
Elf -> Wood Elf -> Forest Elf,
Elf -> Fairy -> Fairy King/Queen,
Elf -> Sea Elf -> Mermaid

Dark Elves - Similar in build to their fair skinned brethren these brown skinned elves have a much more sultry reputation. Known to be less reserved when it comes to carnal pleasures than their fair cousins. Dark elves have been known to make deals with Gandor acting as avatars of love while other, more cruel-hearted dark elves pledge themselves Ea, abandoning their souls and becoming monsters in search of power. It is theoretically possible to redeem a dark elf turned drow by regaining their soul but the challenge would require making a deal with Ea and surviving to tell the tale, as such no one has seen what would occur when the two are reintroduced. Dark Elves are much more physically inclined than fair elves, but lose their magical affinity for that trade.

Notable Evolutions:
Dark Elf -> Golden Elf -> Beloved of the Sun,
Dark Elf -> Oath Elf -> Houri,
Dark Elf -> Drow -> Drow Matriarch -> Drider -> Spider Queen -> Fragment of Ea,
Dark Elf -> Drow -> (Redeemed Dark Elf???)

Dwarves - Known for their cratsmanship and their alcoholism they are an extremely hardy race. There are also Shamanistic dwarves that specialize in healing. Asking if their women have beards too is a good way to start a tavern brawl. A great war was once waged between the human and dwarven races and it still causes tensions to this day. Dwarves still tend not to like humans but have a good relationship with the Demi-humans who turned the tide in their favor.

Notable Evolutions: Dwarf -> Mountain Dwarf -> Forge Dwarf, Dwarf -> Spirit Dwarf -> Dwarf Shaman

Orc - While technically humanoids most orcs have cast off their souls to Ea or Argarel. Few non-monstrous orcs still exist. Because of their race's nearly wholesale betrayal, the gods have stolen their rights to evolve. Rather than fall to despair about this many orcs wish to redeem their race and thus have started adventuring in hopes of regaining the god's favor. They actively hunt monstrous Orcs in an attempt to cleanse their race. Due to this drive however these orcs tend to be brash and foolhardy, rushing into most challenges like they are a shot at evolution.

Notable Evolutions: Orc -> Tusk Warrior (Currently Unavailable) -> Uruk'hai (Currently Unavailable), Monstrous Orc -> Pig Orc (N/A) -> Orc King (N/A) -> Gluttonous King (N/A) -> Devourer of Worlds (N/A)

Demi-Humans - A race of humanoids with animal traits. They share a wide range of traits from nearly all of the animal kingdom though mammals are most common. There are no Demi-Humans that have wings or can fly/glide. They are largely nomadic or live in areas humans would never settle in an attempt to flee the xenophobic race. Humans tend to enslave them due to their incredible physical strength.

Notable Evolutions: (Depends on race) Cat -> Tiger or Striped Tiger (Extra Requirements), Rabbit -> Jackrabbit or Jackalope (Extra Requirements), Centaur -> Planestrider or Great Plainstrider (Extra Requirements)

Deva: Half blood children of Angels and a mortal race. They tend to be incredibly generous and kind. Both men and women are incredibly fertile. This along with their divine beauty often leads them to having a lot of kids, with females usually quitting adventuring in favor of raising their children.

Notable Evolutions: Deva -> Ascended Deva -> Angel-kin, Deva -> Fallen Deva

Fellblood: Half blood children of Demons and a mortal race. Despite common slander they have no more perpensity for evil than humanity. Without the use of magic they are all completely infertile.

Notable Evolutions: Fellblood -> Scorned Fellblood -> Demon-kin, Fellblood -> Forgiven

Nephilim: Children born of the meeting between angels and demons. Incredibly powerful but very short lived as their dual natures eventually clash and tear their soul apart. They typically die before 30 years old.

Notable Evolutions: ???, None have survived long enough to find out.
