How to build your Android (Tank).

He had 25 points to spare. As he wanted her to be his tank the most logical stat priority was:

  1. Strength: As this Stat increased John’s own HP regeneration and Aclysia seemed to operate under at least a similar ruleset this was probably a safe bet in order to make her stronger in drawn out engagements. She would also need the Strength to actually be threatening in close combat. This wasn’t an RPG were such a thing as a threat-metre exists and she couldn't just taunt enemies to get aggro of him. If Aclysia was no danger to the enemy they would just ignore her and attack John instead, which he wanted to avoid.
  2. Endurance: As Health and the ability to take damage were the bread and butter of every tank out there this was likely the most important. However a melee fighter that was only able to take but not to dish out some damage wasn’t very impressive so Endurance went down to rank 2.
  3. Agility: Similarly, to Strength this was needed to keep Aclysia relevant for the enemy. If they could just ignore her due to her lack of speed she wouldn’t be able to fulfil her task.
  4. Wisdom: Of the two Mana-Stats Wisdom was the one that had more relevance in fighting as it should make her able to simulate more fighting experience. Maybe a bit more wisdom would also increase her social understanding.
  5. Intellect: Aclysia wasn’t supposed to be a caster so she had no need of the mana. However, Intellect would probably be needed to make proper decisions when John couldn’t give her orders. Not that high on the priority list but still something to think about.
  6. Charisma: Unless he wanted to whore-out Aclysia when money got tight or use her sexiness to get discounts somewhere he couldn’t see how this Stat would be of much use.
  7. Libido: Despite this being last place in priority, John had every intention on raising it eventually. Making sure that Aclysia was functioning as a tank was just more important for the moment.

With all than in mind it was time to decide how to divide the points he currently had at hand. There was no need to raise Intellect (As it was already high enough from the need to have her form vocal cords), Charisma or Libido. Of the four stats remaining, Wisdom stuck out like a sore-thumb. ‘It should probably be in the double digits’ John justified the decision to himseld and spent the first 5 points.

“What happened?” John raised his head from the window to look who asked. It was Aclysia. He was surprised by this, she never started conversations out of the blue before. “I raised your Wisdom-Stat.” He tried to explain, “Do you feel different?” “No?” The answer sounded like a question. Uncertainty. Another thing he never heard from her. ‘Did I cross some kind of ‘emotion’ threshold by accident?’

“Creator John. What is Wisdom?” “Oh, wow, okay, now this again, huh?” John stammered. “Wisdom is, uh, basically….” He looked to the other people in the room for help. Jimmie was the first to come to his aid. “Basically, it describes how much a person has experienced, a wise person is somebody who knows a lot of stuff by heart.” Rave was next, “I guess experience and a kind of social tact? Hard to grasp.” “Wisdom is to know what must be done in order to preserve what is important.” Victoria finished with certainty. “Something like that.” John ended that segue. “I will try to understand these answers.” Aclysia thanked and John looked back to her stats.

20 points remaining. As Aclysia was now asking question on her own increasing Wisdom further didn’t seem necessary. Of the combat stats Strength was currently the highest and he wanted it to remain that way, per his priority list Endurance should have been higher than Agility though. He decided to put 5 into Strength, 5 into Agility and the remaining 10 into Endurance.

Huh, that warranted another look at his A2 clone.

‘Mhm, nothing out of the ordinary I think.’ John thought, ‘Consumption instead of Experience, weird that I don’t get a number on that but Gaia isn’t the most consistent developer anyway. Well, at least it gives me a rough estimate. The Health Reg could be a bit higher all things considered but….’ “Wait, does that say HP per SECOND?!” He accidentally slipped his thoughts as he stared at the window.

“What’s going on?” Rave asked in response to her boyfriend’s sudden outburst. “Well, uhm. You remember how I heal pretty much every existing second?” “Yeah? Because the number is so low it’s one of the few parts of your ability that isn’t total bullshit.” “Right…well Aclysia here heals 0,6 Health per Second, that is like.” He quickly calculated the numbers, thanks be to his high Intellect, “Roughly 5400 times my regeneration speed.”

Rave looked slightly impressed and Victoria raised an eyebrow. Jimmie however simply shrugged. “And?” “And that is high?” “Not really, she isn’t biological, remember?” “”Ooooh!”” Rave and John exclaimed at the same time. “Yeah, that makes sense.” He gave in. So Aclysia regenerated much faster because she didn’t need to actually heal but only go back to the form she had before the injury. Would she shrink if her materials ran out? Questions for hopefully never.

“Okay, with that business taken care off let’s go out!” “Go out?” Aclysia asked. “You know, farming.” “We are going to harvest crops?” ‘Oh for heavens sake it’s like I am a tutorial guide…’ John cleared his throat, “No, when I say farming I use it as a way to describe the act of killing enemies in a videogame over and over again to amass Loot and Experience, because my power IS like a videogame I use the term for real situations as well.” Aclysia nodded to that. For some reason, she seemed to have basic (like, VERY basic) knowledge of videogames. Maybe Gaia was playing another trick on John?

“With enemies, you are referring to the Ghosts and the Spectre?” Aclysia kept at it. “No, just enemies in general, we are farming something else today.” “What?” “Dunno yet.” “I understand.” She finally ceased her probing. “Can we go now then?” Rave asked, tapping her foot on the floor in an impatient rhythm. “I ain’t skipping school to hang out with Jimmie over here.” “Get bent, Rave.” Jimmie complained, “I fully intend to!” Rave grabbed John’s arm and stuck out her tongue. John blushed, Jimmie mumbled something gnarly, Victoria sighed.

“Would you mind if I accompany you?” The sniper asked. “I am interested in this whole ‘Gamer’ thing.” John normally wouldn’t have cared much and agreed but he remembered why they were skipping in the first place. “Sorr-“ he began to try and explain that the two of them wanted to spend the day alone (+Aclysia), “Yeah, sure, whatevs.” Rave spoke right over him. “Come along.”

John was massively confused as they left the building, after shrinking and storing Aclysia again, and Jimmie went back to his robot suit.

Wat?
