How can I improve the stories?

What do you like? What makes a story/chapter good to you? And how can I improve my own?

One of the problems I have with writing is a lack of motivation. I want to write things that I know people are reading, but I have no clue if people are reading. I know you can check 'views' on chapters, but I don't really count those. To me, they can just be people scrolling through a chapter without reading it. I care more about favorites and especially comments since it feels much more like people are reading it.

My chapters usually don't get that many favorites. I don't know if that's because a lot of people aren't reading it, aren't enjoying it, are just ignoring the favorite button (which is much more likely), or because the site doesn't have a lot of people on it. Because of that, it's a bit unmotivating to write.

It's probably a bad idea to chase favorites. I should just enjoy writing for the sake of writing. However, I can't help but want to see that people are enjoying my stories.

Just to be clear, this isn't me asking for favorites or anything. This is basically me explaining why I haven't done much posts on here, and also trying to get feedback on my stories so I can improve, get more favorites, and feel like more people are actually enjoying my stories.

Either way, I'll try to add some more chapters to the various fandoms hopefully in the near future.
