How Sarah Found Out About James' Powers

A/N: The chapter takes place in between after James and Sarah met and before the first time they had sex.

Towels, sunscreen, sunglasses. James thinks to himself as he checks his bag, ensuring he has everything. Okay, that's everything. And the umbrella is already in the car. Just as he finishes his thought, his doorbell rings. After placing the bag by the door, he answers it and smiles upon seeing his girlfriend of three months. She's wearing a casual shirt and pants.

"Hello, Sarah. I'll be ready in a few minutes. I'm just going to use the bathroom real quick. Would you kindly take my bag to my car?" James realizes he used his powers on his girlfriend again after she grabs the bag. He doesn't bother closing the door behind him and hangs his head in shame as he walks deeper inside his house.

17. James thinks to himself as he washes his hands. That's how many times he's used his powers on Sarah. But he didn't mean to say the phrase. It just slipped out. I can't believe I made Sarah do something I could have done myself. I got to stop using my powers on her. Let's see how long I can last without saying Would you kindly again.

When James enters the living room, he's surprised to see Sarah. She's no longer wearing her shirt or pants, meaning she only has on her bikini.

"Before we head to the beach, James, I want to know what you think of my bikini."

"It's... Uhh... Well..." He tries his best not to stare at Sarah's breasts and focus on looking at her face. But James can't help but sneak a few glances. "It's nice. But don't you think it's a bit revealing? I mean. I can see your... Uhh... Do you have another bikini you can wear?"

"I do. I actually brought it with me in case you didn't like this one." Sarah never had any intention of wearing the revealing bikini to the beach. She wanted to see what her boyfriend's reaction would be. She's been trying to give him hints that she's ready for sex. But he hasn't caught on to any of them.

"I don't hate the bikini, Sarah. I like it. It's just... Would you kindly put on your other bikini?"

Sarah doesn't say a word as she grabs a plastic bag containing her other bikini and heads inside the bathroom with it. After she shuts the door, James lets out a sigh. He used the phrase again, and it hadn't even been ten minutes.

18. He thinks to himself.

Today is the perfect day to relax at the beach. And James and Sarah are enjoying themselves very much. "I'm serious," James says. "I never went to any of my high school football games. And I still know nothing about football. My parents are not into sports. My mom even told me once that she was glad I never said I wanted to play football."

"Well, you'll be happy to hear that I'm not into football either. But I do like baseball. Would you watch a game with me if I asked?"

"Yeah, I would. I at least know the rules of baseball." Sarah's laugh cause James to smile. "Hey. I'm going to get something to eat at the snack bar. Do you want anything?"

Sarah shakes her head no. Now alone, she passes the time by watching the other people at the beach. She spots a young boy in the distance who is having lots of fun playing with his dad. The mom is off to the side, taking a video or pictures of them on her phone. Maybe that will be me and James one day.

"Hey. What's a beautiful woman like you doing all alone here?" A male voice from behind her asks. She turns to find a small group of tall, muscular men staring back at her. "What's your name, cutie?"

Sarah immediately knows what the men's intentions are by the way they're staring at her breasts. She's encountered a few perverts in the past. But she has never handled a group of them before. Instead of telling them her real name, she says, "Emily. And I'm not-"

"Hello, Emily," one of the guys says, interrupting her. "Do you mind if my friends and I hang around? I promise we'll all have a good time together."

She becomes frightened as the men surround her. She quickly gets up and tries to walk past one of them. But he stops her by blocking her path. "Where are you going? We just want to talk with you. Do you want to talk somewhere more private? I understand now. Follow us."

Sarah knows that words won't help her get out of the situation she's in. The only thing she can come up with is to scream to draw attention. But before she can, a friendly voice says, "Would you guys kindly stop whatever it is you're doing? And would one of you guys kindly tell me your intentions with my girlfriend?"

With the men distracted to turn and look at who spoke, Sarah takes the opportunity to rush to her boyfriend and wrap her arms around him tightly. She starts to calm down now that James is here. "We were talking with your girlfriend and were just about to **** her to come with us somewhere private so we could **** her," the closest guy to James says.

James had a feeling the men's intentions weren't good. "Would you kindly leave my girlfriend and me alone? And would you kindly never harass women the same way you harassed my girlfriend ever again?" He says in a slightly angry tone.

"He's right. We're sorry. Have a nice day," one of the guys says before they all leave.

Sarah is in disbelief. How the hell did James do that? She thinks to herself as he comforts her.

"Are you okay, Sarah? Did any of those men touch you?"

"N-No," is all Sarah says as she cries. She's never been so afraid in her life. In the past, the few times she's encountered someone she was wary of, she would walk away from them. And since that method has always worked, she didn't have a plan B if it failed.

"Do you want to leave?" James asks. And the response he gets is a head nod. "Alright. We'll leave."

As Sarah helps James pack all their things, she can't stop wondering how he accomplished the heroic feat of getting all those guys to leave them alone. Those guys could have easily beaten up James if they wanted to. How did he get them to tell him their intentions? After remembering what James said beforehand, Sarah realizes something. James said would you kindly. And the men immediately did what James asked after he said the phrase.

Sarah thinks back on all the times James said the phrase to her. The day we met, I sat next to him during the train ride and gave him my number afterward. Every time he asked me out, he used the phrase. And I said yes without even thinking about it. She's mad at James for a sec for using whatever weird powers he has on her. But then she quickly realizes something. He could have used his powers to **** me to have sex with him anytime he wanted. But he hasn't. After seeing me in that skimpy bikini this morning, he didn't make me take it off.

She becomes startled a bit as James wraps his arm around her. "Hey, Sarah. Would you like to continue our date at my house? We could continue watching that **** mystery series." He says.

He didn't say the phrase. I could say no. After thinking carefully about her answer, she smiles and says, "Sure. I would like that. And, James. Thank you." Thank you for being a great human being.
