Chapter 3: On the roads I

It's been two days since you and Abby joined Usha and those two days alone where pretty exhausting for you specifically, because you kept on getting these waves of pain throughout the two days. You got these almost excusively when you where in the middle of sleeping, holding ou back from getting more than three hours of sleep and rest.

"Should we take a stop in the next village, to fully rest I mean?" Said Abby, your exhausted state was obviously not staying unnoticed. "Don't need to but you two decide." You lied trying to hold the moral on a good level. "We will try stop there and rest because Ravens needs some." Usha said in a rather commanding tone. "Alright maybe you're right." You sighed defeated.

It didn't take long for you to reach a small village and it's tavern. You three stepped in and immediately you noticed a rather hostile vibe from the tables, cloaked figures looking at the three of you.

You glanced over your shoulder to signlize to your companions that you weren't staying for anylonger than necessary. A quick surveying look though the tavern to find the counter and the admitedly beautiful barmaid.

Making you way to the front she looks at notices you and immediately locks her gaze on you, looking rather hostile and disgusted, quite like your surrounding onlookers. "Ay luv, ye'mind com'n to me an my budd's over ere, us would treat ya to a nice back rub. How's tha sound o' that?" A loud laughing comes from nearly all the patrons in the tavern and even got a smirk on the barkeep. Usha quite fast put herself behind Abby and were now shielding the woman from the perverted patrons. "Don't mind them. Just the usual pigs in here." Usha tried to calm Abby down by putting a hand on her bare shoulder.

You paid the whole of the tavern little attention. "Could you tell us where..." You get cut of by a rough shove that would've pushed you off your feet if you weren't prepared for altercations to begin with. "What was that for?" You ask with a irritated but calm voice. "Yer not from here are ya?" The man who shoved you looked like he was in his mid-thirties about as tall as you but maybe 50 pounds heavier than you. "Didn't know it was written on my forehead."

Your fast and unwavered response wasn't particularly to the liking of the burly, brown-haired man. "You doin, leadn that monster into dis tavern?"

"Ok, I guess we aren't welcome here, we'll take our leave." You quickly looked around the room and noticed much more people on their feet than you had expected. "You and yer green oaf can take yer leave, but the ginger cunt'll stay wit'us." He said with a lustful grin.

You and Usha simultaneously drew your weapons. She turned around and you had your backs both towards Abbigail, tightly shielding her with Usha's big warhammer and your greatsword. The sound of men being sent flying through the room by Usha was enough for you to swing first and strike the man infront of you, slashing open his clothes and cutting him, though not killing him.

It was evident that you had to fight your way out to protect your friend. You had reached the doors to exit the establishment, when you felt a long blade stabbing you into your side just when you swung through a man in front of you but getting your blade stuck in the wood table. It was a deep wound, but you felt another pain grabbing your attention almost the same moment you were wounded.

The familiar pain in your back spreading over your backside, imbuing you with the same feeling you had when you were fighting Usha and that captain of the guys who wanted to kill her. The sudden boost made you turn with renewed strength and you notice that you had turned with the greatsword in your leadhand, slicing right through the blade and a wooden column as if it were butter. That act sent everyone and every bit of furniture flying towards the back of the tavern, giving you time to get out of there and getting some distance between the three of you and the tavern.

"Guess we need to avoid the villages and cities." Stated Usha despite being out of breath. "Let's keep going and let's avoid the streets, to keep the altercations to a minimum." Said Abbigail and she seemed rather relieved to now having to travel through the woods.

after a short while, it was slwoly getting darker when you came upon a huge and hollowed out tree trunk. "A storm is coming." The comment from Usha was enough for you to stop and turn. "We're gonna stay here, that trunk will hopefuly provide enough protection."

As you turned again you failed to focus your sight to the point of everything fading to black

"Patrick!" Abbgail screams your name at the sight of you falling to the ground, failing to stay conscious. "Usha?" She turns to the Orc with a pleading voice and tears in her eyes. "Lets get him in there fast."
